    Riding motorcycle with child

Brodie, thanks for your concern. I hear your point. I'd like to stress out that i am planning on acting in full respect of current laws, which state that the only condition for a child to ride as a passenger is to touch the footpegs. As long as this condition is met (one way or another) then i...

    Riding motorcycle with child

I rode with my dad since i was 3 (when H&S wasn't really a thing), had scooters at the age of 12, have had large motorcycles for the last 17 years. Sure it means nothing and i'm conscious of the risks involved, but i'm not a naive rider and if done properly is all perfectly legal. We take our...

    Riding motorcycle with child

Hello, I live in California and I'm thinking of adapting my FJR to carry my son when he turns 4 years old (in a few months). i ride to work and it would be convenient for me to just put him on the bike and take him to childcare/school. It's only a couple of miles from home and it's all surface...

technical questions: auto-choke, vacuum line and cam chain tensioner.

hello i have a 2007 FJR1300A 65k miles. it runs great but there are few minor things that bother me and i want to see if any of you have advice on how to sort them out. 1. when new the bike used to start at first press of start button, sit at higher revs for a while and then adjust to idle...

    Abs/speedo is out.

I tried to fix it, since it's an electrical cable and quite easy to reconnect, but it was pulled from inside the sensor and you can't open the sensor to replace the cable (it's glued to make it watertight). so I went on ebay and bought an used one for 15£ (20$), including the black disk. I will...

    Abs/speedo is out.

Hi, I started moving with the disk lock on the read wheel today and I think I damaged the cable that goes from the abs sensor, it's not ripped but it got squished and probably broke inside. The abs red light came on (and stays on) and the speedo, trip, odo is stuck. By changing that cable...

    Brakes get really hot!

Too much pressure had built inside, as soon as I removed the cover of the from brake oil reservoir, I felt a gush of air (and oil) coming out.. I took The opportunity to clean the brakes too, with brakes cleaner. All back to normal now. Many thanks!

    Brakes get really hot!

I did bleed the rear one (including the linked front), but not the front one. The ones that want to come out is the left disk, which is not connected to the linked brakes. Mmh, maybe I'll bleed the fron one too tomorrow

    Brakes get really hot!

I just changed the front pads, since the previous ones were all worn out I had to push the cilinders back in to fit the new ones. As I was pushing I could see that the cylinders tend to come back out. Anyway I fit the pads and went riding. The front wheel is no longer spinning freely, if feels...

bleeding the line question. Rear Brake caliper installation procedure.

Thank you! I'm reading on the manual 3-31 how to bleed the system. It says to do the front brakes first, but I haven't touched those.. Do I need to bleed them first anyway?

bleeding the line question. Rear Brake caliper installation procedure.

Hi, I was going to change the rear pads on my 2007 FJR today, but for the life of me I could not remove one of the two bolts that keep the caliper in place. I tried everything, including drilling it and using bolt removers (I have a new bolt on hands).. Since the damn thing wasn't gonna give...

    help indentify electrical component!

Hey all, I'm having a small electrical issue with my GenII FJR1300. I had to change the front light assembly (fairings headlight etc), now it's almost all back together and I noticed that with the ignition key off, the rear lights stay on. The bike turns on and all seems functioning fine, but...

I need to replace the panniers of my gen2. I can get them used from a gen1 and reprint them. Question is: will they fit?
