    Dropped it

Yup BTDT. Rolling my gen1 out of garage after a few adult beverages foot slipped on garden hose and over she went pinning me between the bike and a metal shelving unit. Shelf rocked back dumping all its contents on me. Was stuck for quite a while until i figured out how to get bike off me! I...

Avoid a tire changer (Am I out of my mind ?)

Have old style HF unit with the curved metal jaws to hold rim. Simply wrap rubber electrical splicing tape around each jaw before use. It protects the rim and provides adequate friction to prevent rim from slipping. Use the no-mar bar and 2 ratcheting clamps from Lowes to squeeze tire tigether...

    British Bike as "other" bike?

Ended up with a British bike as my primary ride and am very pleased with it. Decided a few years ago to give up street bikes and strictly ride enduro stuff. Been an avid off road rider my whole life and traffic and congestion on the roads really is getting bad here in N.J. Sold the FJR and was...

    FJRF011: Fast Starter Syndrome

Strange problem. Funny thing is my FJR never did it. If i ran it for a short time it would run a little rough next startup but clear right out. I had a 1994 Saturn SL2 sedan that did the exact same thing if you started it just to move it the next day it cranked over as if the plugs were removed...

    FJR in curves and twisties..?

Coming from a 900lb Goldwing the FJR felt like a lightweight sportbike. Now riding a 437lb Triumph Sprint RS makes the FJR feel very heavy and cumbersome in the tight turns. Its a tradeoff but overall the FJR does everything pretty darn well.

    Direct Mount Highway Pegs

Had a set in my 04. Cant see how just the weight applied to them resting your legs could bend or distort anything. My bigger concern was damage to engine during a drop or low speed tip over if the brackets hit the ground. Ended up removing mine and selling them as i didnt really use them
