Gen 1 parts, one last time

Hello James,     Do you have the rear shock for your '04 FJR? I have an '03 that could use some love (rusty coil spring). Thanks, Will

Split: Cheap aluminum radiators on ebay?

To Warchild, Any thoughts or experience with the cheap aluminum radiators I've seen on Ebay, etc.? An outfit in Rowland CA is advertising radiators for the Gen 1 FJR at under $100. My 2003 FJR radiator developed a leak in one or more lower cr0ss-tubes, probably from road-salt.

    Best Radiator Guards

Hello all. Maybe I am overthinking this, but for the Cox users, is the guard custom made for the FJR, and will it fit my '03 Gen I bike? I see one user (snikr) is using this on an '04. My FJR did not come with a guard, bought it at 10,000 miles, and now am thinking about replacing the radiator...

    Garauld (on this forum)

I can't believe it took me so long to find out about Gary's work, but I am glad I finally did. I had been looking for an aftermarket tail-rack for my '03 FJR, but with no luck. Someone reminded me to go the the FJR forum and scout around. After several emails, Gary came up with a solution: he...

    headlight issues

Thanks Alan and Walt (hope I have the names right). I know which connector you guys are talking about. The ECU is underneath the tool tray that is under the seat, and is accessed via the trim panel under the operator's left leg. Thank you again to anyone I may have missed. I REALLY need to...

    headlight issues

Thanks, Alan. This is some very specific info that will help me to answer some wet weather issues I have been having with the 2003 FJR. Yes, I was able to start the bike with no problem. The amber light has come on before in the rain, steadily, but then goes out once everything dries off. Do you...

    headlight issues

Agreed. Am looking at possibility of wet relay in cowl per other responder. I am thinking the old FJR did not like the 100+ heat followed by torrential rains.

Much appreciate the quick reply; now I have something to look for. :)

    headlight issues

I am having some issues with the headlights on my 2003 FJR. This past weekend, after a heavy rain, the headlights did not come on and the amber engine warning light was pulsating rapidly. I am wondering if this is related to a grounding problem, or maybe a relay or module responsible for turning...

    Ignition Siwtch Failures

Hello to all FJR riders. Not sure if this topic is closed at this point. The ignition switch on my 2003 FJR crapped out about a month ago (57,190 mi); just now took the thing apart. It appears to have failed in the same way that all of your Gen II units did; i.e, the red-wire solder connection...

    Reparing Your Ignition Switch

Any chance you (or anyone else) might know where the four-pin plug is located that separates the ignition switch lead from the main harness. I don't feel like spending $250.00 for the new switch; I thought I could bypass the whole biz with a couple of toggles and a relay. BTW, thanks for the...

    Reparing Your Ignition Switch

Thanks to all for the valuable info I found here. It looks like my 2003 FJR ignition is on the way out; it did not want to light things up after I shut it off in a traffic jam to let thing cool down. After spraying some WD40 in the key slot and playing with the switch (turning it off and on...
