    Heading West

Highway 56 in far western Montana is an awesome (35 mile) route between US 12 and MT 200 and if you want relief from the rough highway along Koocanusa, there is the old highway on the opposite (west) side of the lake that is awesome. Kootenai Falls west of Libby is worth the time for a visit...

    North Cascades snow clearing described

I've been following Lauren's posts also, Gordon. Thanks for the post! I am hoping to put in a couple days with my son in Bothell and come back over SR 20 for the opener. He just bought a new Wing and I still have my '07 FJR. Maybe see y'all up there for the opener!

    FJR1300 top speed?

Shut down after reaching 145 on the speedometer, came off a hill then down a straight stretch slight uphill grade. Scairt m'seff, and even had my son on his R1 nervous. My '07 had more in her but I ran out of courage.

    Backcountry Discovery Routes

Not specifically FJR riding but I was wondering if any of you adventure riders had done any of the Backcountry Discovery Routes. Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, all have off-road routes running cross-state north-south. I'd like to run some of those upon...

Introducing the most luxurious Sport Touring motorcycle: The 2021 Tracer 9 GT (???)

FJR certainly nicer looking, but the Tracer is pretty cool. I'll keep my feejmobile for now but agree with those who are waiting for these features to be incorporated into the NextGen FJR. Can't wait for next season! Even thinking of trailering down to AZ for some winter riding.

    The Cleanse

Well done pants! I'd love to ride the Ozarks. Well, I'd love to ride just about anywhere!! Not much riding this time of year in Western Montana. And my baby sits in her garage with brand new tires and a will to go...

Spokane WA to Fort Phil Kearny Wyoming

Nice RR! Great photos and narrative. Tried to make that happen this year for the Mrs. and me but summer got away. Have made two attempts at Beartooth Pass but haven't made it yet. Bighorn Mountains road is a fun ride and Chief Joseph Highway is a good place to scrub away chicken strips. Thanks...

    Epic Tour of Central Idaho

WOW I just found this ride report! Great job all! Great photos too! I avoid gravel on the FJR if I can. I need to get my old XR500 going and do some of these rides.

ear buds or in helmet bluetooth

If you're looking for a less expensive option, try EARPEACE earplugs. Comfortable fit, can hear in-helmet speakers, quiets wind noise, interchangeable filter sets for more or less protection. They worked for me on a recent 8-hour trip without pain, and when I misplaced them I contacted EARPEACE...

    Pillion Seat Cushion Recommendations

https://buttybuddy.com/ Butt seriously, it is a great seat. My wife didn't care for the "rear" seat discomfort, hard on the tushy after about an hour. Now she can ride as long as I can.

    Battery Of Choice

OEM Yuasa battery still going strong in my '07. But I have it apart installing new grounding harness and am thinking of replacing it just because it is 12 years old. Opinions?

    Spider bite on a 2012

I will likely know tomorrow whether I need a harness or to tackle the problem with a soldering gun. If you are willing to sell your harness I will likely want to buy it. I tried to private message you but it says you don't receive private messages. Anyway, let me know what amount would induce...

    Spider bite on a 2012

I didn't have significant damage to the factory wiring, just intermittent problems with the grounding according to the symptoms I've read about. Last year at the PNW tech meet I R/R all the spiders cleaning and greasing them before I reassembled them. There was no damage then. To cure the...

    Spider bite on a 2012

Are you willing to part with the harness? I have an '07 with spider bites I am thinking of attacking with a soldering gun, but would rather not.
