    Thursdays the day !

I am currently shopping for FJR, coming from 10 years on Harleys. Wife loved riding on the back of the Harley. She is not to happy that I am switching to the ugly sport bike. (her words) she wont be riding much. Not with 2 kids in the house now. After they are gown more, she will be getting her...

Another first time rider's impression (and is this a good deal?)

Well the dealer called today. It was one of the mass surveys. How was our service, etc. I made sure I told the girl that I wanted the FJR, but we could not work out the numbers. So maybe that gets to the manager.

$8K For a low mile 08, wow gives me hope that this bike could be had for around that price. I love the color, (black) the greedy packrat in me wants all the goodies, and not pay for them. If I could only pick one, I would pick the seat. But everyone can use a top box. And pipes are always cool...

    Waving at other motorcyclists

When I was a young Harley rider 12 years ago, I never waved at anything unless it was a Harley!!!! Everything else was crap!!!!! Anyway after I got off my high horse, and figured out that just because you do not have a Harley does not mean you are not a dedicated rider, I started to wave at...

Another first time rider's impression (and is this a good deal?)

Out of the 3 I was looking at the 09 first. But when they told me the price, I went running to the 08 with higher miles. I expect a phone call from the dealer this week with a lower offer on bike, higher on the trade in. I doubt a FJR is going to sell fast at a Harley dealership.

Another first time rider's impression (and is this a good deal?)

It's a good dealer. It's the local Harley dealer that Also sells BMWs under a separate name. They are planing on moving their BMW "dealership" into another part of town, (the old Harley building) they are also hoping to expand into triumphs, and KTMs, and other non Japanese brands.

Thanks for the replys. I knew there was a valve adjustment, wasn't sure when it was done. Is it done AT 27k? Of is it more of a 25k thing or do you wait till 30k? Just wondering, also how often do you do it? When would be the next adjustment? for all the goodies, nothing for me is a MUST HAVE ...

Another first time rider's impression (and is this a good deal?)

So went to the local dealer today, just to shop around and to gaze at bikes. They had 3 different used FJRs on the floor. A 2009, with only 1300 miles on it, but it was scratched up all too hell!!! Poor thing lead a rough short life. There was a 2008 AE, not interested in the AE, I want a...

How to convince the Wife to ride..........

I haven't left the building, just hiding out in the corner. I made it back from Iraq in December, haven't been shopping for bikes much this winter. I'm getting ready to move, need to sell my truck, and baby #2 is on the way. A bike is still on the table, just not right now. I am still set on an...

How to convince the Wife to ride..........

Wife has talked about getting her own bike, but, alas this will not be for many more years....till the little one is grown a bit more, and at least in HS, doing his own thing. Ha Ha I am going to tell the wife that one!!!! Hell I am going to show her this whole page. I'll take that into...

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

I looked at all those links with the sub frame cracked......ugh, that's ugly. I used to stack stuff sky high on my tour pack on my Ultra, go two up, and never had a problem with it, guess I need to worry more with weight distribution.

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

Excellent ride reports Canyonman, one question what kind of top box are you running? and how is it latched onto the bike? Just as I thought, the FJR can be a good 1up camping bike.

How to convince the Wife to ride..........

Wife does not have an issue with riding itself, its just that she is used to riding on the back of my Harley. Well the Harley is gone, and I am looking at replacing it with an FJR. For her there are 3 different types of bikes....Harleys, Jap Harley clones and Sport bikes. In her Eyes the FJR...

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

Alright everyone, New guy here, I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on a FJR, one of my questions are how is it for Camping? who has done it? And how much were you able to fit on it? I used to ride a HD Ultra Classic and I was able to pack everything including the kitchen sink on one...
