Good Place to stay in Northern California

The family is going to be doing some sight seeing in Northern California in Mid August. Specifically, we will be driving from San Francisco to the Humboldt Redwood forest. I was thinking that the town of Fort Bragg on the coast might be nice but I have no experience in that part of the state...

Laminar Lip on 06 FJR with OEM Tall Screen

Like many of you here I have been trying to achieve wind protection nirvana on my 06 FJR. I have tried the stock windscreen, CalSci Tall, OEM tall and Cee Bailey +6 +2 with a flip. None of those windscreens really worked for me. The best was the OEM tall but it had a real problem with buffeting...

Spotted - 2008 FJR (black) w/ white Burgman chase vehicle

Today was a fabulous day for riding in South Texas. 72 degrees sunny and light to medium winds. My son and I took a nice little run on one of our favorite local loops. He on his V-Strom and me on my 06 FJR. At any rate, saw what appeared to be an 08 FJR (Black) being followed by what appeared to...

    Autocom in Magnetic Tank Bag

New Autocom for Christmas and am working through the mounting options. I am leaning heavily toward the tank bag mounting option and I am curious if I can use a Magnetic tank bag safely with the electronics. Does anyone have experiences with this setup they would like to share? Thanks, CaryB

    Gold Wing Max Weight Capacity

Stopped by the local Honda Dealer today and spent some time looking at a wing. I have though about one in the past so I was showing allot of interest. Sales guy comes by and I ask what is the maximum load it can carry? He looks at some literature and finally opens the trunk and there is a label...

    Craftsman Torque Wrench

Just bought my first torque wrench, a craftsman with the torgue adjustment in the handle. I have a couple of quick questions about these wrenchs now. Can you assume that it is correctly calibrated when you purchase it? How much can you use it before you need to recalibrate it if ever? If it...

    New Yamaha FJR Windshield

The dealer had one in stock today so I picked it up. I replaced a CalSci Medium (I think it was the +3.5 tall). I'm 6'3" with a 33" inseam. First Impression: The Yamaha screen has a shape similar to the original... Camber both from top to bottom and side to side. The angle of attack (due to...

    New AE Throttle Lock Option

Ran across these while surfing for a cruise control alternative for my AE. Looks like a neat idea and easier to engage/dis-engage than the throttle meister. I think it is only available for BMW's at this point though. If any one has more information on this please let meknow. Thanks, CaryB

    Throttle Slack Adjustment

Did the throttle slack adjustment today described in this forum. I now feel like I have much better control of the bike at slow speeds. It makes the AE clutch engagement much more predictable and in general my riding of the bike smoother. Again, thanks to the members for documenting this...
