    Garauld (on this forum)

Another fine product delivered quickly . . . ordered the Gary rack with tang's for future addition of backrest back in 2014 . . . this year a couple months back sent email to order the rack. Other than asking for payment by Paypal he asked for a c to c measure on the tang holes . . . I took the...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@mcatrophy: Thanks for the links . . . took a fast look through both of them . . . looks like something to do with regular maintenance cycles . . . . Gx

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@mcatrophy: Thanks for the post . . . may or may not get there on the DIY . . . that looks like one of those jobs that appears "easy" but just waiting to lull the operator into submission and sping itself apart . . . . Gx

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

Brilliant, freaking brilliant . . . you should write lyrics for showtunes . . . very helpful thank you. I see that you don't live in SoCal, so probably never make it to the Rock Store on the Saturday am session . . . you don't have a Gen 2 . . . and you probably don't have the G2 throttle tamer...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

Question . . . are there any FJR operators in SoCal who have the G2 throttle tamer installed who also get to the Rock Store on a semi-regular basis that could meet me there on a Saturday morning and field some questions about their experience with it? I don't want a test ride, just do a twist...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@HaulinA: Cool. How then do you explain my experience with renting, twice, the Konk14 . . . and not having similar jerky throttle problems with the FI? Smooth as silk all up and down the rev range, no problems with being in any gear, in any turn??? Bone stock . . . .

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

Thanks for the tips gents . . . but I'm like a "Randy Mamola" type rider, having a "plan" and "riding the plan" doesn't work for me . . . I'm all over the place, late-braking, late apexing, early braking, early apexing . . . on the gas, off the gas, looking around at the scenary instead of...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@mcatrophy: Thanks for the pointer, thought it might have been because I'm still in OSX 10.4.11 on my home desktop unit . . . . Gx

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@yeravener: Thanks for posting this information, all of the problems mentioned are similar in nature to what I experience, including "compression braking" when closing throttle, etc . . . and good to know that possibly doing a good throttle body sync could fix the problems . . . . The FJR is...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@lnewlf: Thanks for the info . . . I tried to search "BJM" here on the forum . . . didn't seem to find anything???? I got the "spring unwind" . . . and the "G2" is the aftermarket throttle tube??? I haven't looked at the options for awhile, waiting for the next service, but, also yes . . ...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@mcatrophy: Thanks for the follow-up . . . I'll have to check that, generally I'm thinking that 1000 is where it is set for idle . . . I have a couple thousand miles before the next service . . . but, an easy enough fix if that solves what has been an irritating problem . . . loaded, 2-up . . ...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@ionb: Personally I haven't ruled out the PC-V, but in my 25+ years of riding I have learned that throwing money at a problem doesn't always "fix" the problem . . . and for the most part does not increase re-sale . . . . At this point the "main" problem that continues is an intermittent stall...

The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

@yeravener: No, and yes . . . the data that someone posted here on releasing the throttle spring by one "turn"??? looks interesting as a simple option to try to make the throttle less "heavy" . . . but I haven't gotten to the next service interval to try messing with it. I have seen Rider mag...

Local comments on CA 43 thru central Valley?

Sure, early morning is the best running the grapevine . . . but, too much history of two-up loaded and the pesky crosswinds that would push my old C-10 all over the road . . . havn't had the FJR up the 405 "slot" to the 5 . . . as the price of gas has cut out the high speed runs to nowhere . . ...

Local comments on CA 43 thru central Valley?

@CAJW, et al: 2 lane country road is my kind of riding these days . . . so, the 43 is similar to the 65 then, with pretty long distances between stop signs? Might be a tad slower than the 99, but more fun or scenic? But, agreed, I was just through there in a car . . . 103 degrees in the...

Local comments on CA 43 thru central Valley?

@russperry: Thanks for the post, I also have taken 65 in the past when I was coming down via 245 . . . that sort of puts me a tad more east than I would want, as I go into the park by the 63 & 180 . . . . But, right, the 65 is pretty open running as long as there aren't too many trucks and/or...

Local comments on CA 43 thru central Valley?

Folks: Looking at ways of getting from LA to Grant Grove, CA that would avoid the Grapevine . . . google maps ran me through a few options . . . the 33 to 166 option looks OK for that . . . then the idea of riding up the 99 just doesn't make any sense . . . but looking at the map shows state...

WOTL: Gen 2="safe and sane"? Gen 1= jekyll/hyde?

@Denver: Thanks for the info . . . well, like I mentioned, no radar detector makes it difficult for unfettered friskiness in SoCal . . . it's all about vibes here . . . if you ride in a comatose fashion the CHP are not "called" . . . but if you spark it up . . . suddenly they are everywhere . ...

WOTL: Gen 2="safe and sane"? Gen 1= jekyll/hyde?

@lnewlf: Thanks for the follow-up . . . it would be great if a simple cable adjustment would smoothen out the throttle response; but "wrist training"??? how much more do I have to do to get this problem straightened out??? @Uncle: "Skittering stream of consciousness" . . . OK, I accept . ...
