How many use cruise above 80 mph?

Lol, yes old guy, I know I am the one to determine what it's worth to me. And while that isn't the question I asked the forum, I do enjoy reading the experiences of the other riders on the forum. The thing is, I like going fast. Or even faster than fast. That's why a sport touring bike sits...

How many use cruise above 80 mph?

I average between 75 and 85 mph everyday in mostly heavy traffic 30 miles each way to and from work. I like to drive about 5 mph faster than most traffic because it's safer passing traffic than getting passed. But the traffic is so bad now that I rarely get to that 5 mph over. My daily driver of...

How many use cruise above 80 mph?

Well I have found a 2013 for $8,200 two hours away, a 2014A for $8800 8 hours away and a 2015 ES for $11,000 14 hours away. Is there any risk putting a 14/15 module in the 13? Just considering all options. Beary

How many use cruise above 80 mph?

Yes, I'm looking to get a cruise control for my Kawasaki Concours, IT'S CALLED an FJR. lol I know, I know but I'm trying to determine if I should grab a good deal on a 2013, or start with the 14s. I will grab a 2015 if I find one under $10,000. But getting back to the question, I have used my...

    Raising a lowered 2013

Looking at used bikes to get a cruise control and there are a surprising number of lowered FJRs. Is it hard to go back to original? Will I need original parts? Thanks ahead Beary

    Convince Me

This is a very good unbiased post. Most comments praise the new electronic suspension as the reason for getting a Gen III, and for good reason. But central Oklahoma is the worlds longest runway, so I'm not sure I can justify the ES. The benefit of the Gen IIIA over the Gen II appears to be the...

    Convince Me

I have an offer for my 2012 that is hard to turn down, that is why I'm asking. It looks like the Gen IIIs offer a little better suspension (not ES) and a Cruise control. I saw the 2013 ad and it is tempting depending on the cost to fly into St. Lious. Beary

    Convince Me

Just out of curiosity (since I am being tempted with a new Gen III), how many here who say stick with the Gen I or II have rode a Gen III?

    Brand New 2014 ... $11988

They also had and ES model for about $500 more. I imagine the person who created the ads didn't think it mattered what pictures were used for which ad. Burt

    Brand New 2014 ... $11988

It's an "A" model and they have one left. It's the Yamaha store in Norman Ok, 45 minutes south of Oklahoma City. Burt

    Auto Cancelling Turn Signals

LOL, you guys really are quite emotional. I Love my FJR, but I didn't realize a Harley sitting next to a Yamaha in the garage was so intimidating to this group. Burt

    Auto Cancelling Turn Signals

All Harleys have turn signals and they are the best in the industry. Never on too long or short because they also take in consideration of lean angle and speed. They some how figured it out. Not having turn signals on any bike larger than a 250 seem backwards and cheap. FJRs finally progressed...

Hit the kill switch when stuck in traffic

Not in traffic, but I generally turn all my vehicles off with the key switch at railroad crossings. They are pretty common in my area and I have been stuck as long as 20 minutes. And as someone else said, even though the bike engine might be cool, the heat coming off of it is pretty hot. Beary

    Bosch 3323 oil filter

I'm curious to how proliferation is worse than trying provde important information to the list members? How many riders already bought the wrong filter since this thread was dumped and covered away in the NERPT gutter? Beary

    2010 or 2008?

Because of the mileage, the 08 is worth about between $5,000 and $5,500 with or without the farkles. The 10 would be worth about the same if it had the same mileage. So you are really trying to decide if the frakles are worth the high miles. Truth is we always want low miles, but in you case it...

2005 Yamaha FJR 1300 ABS Mobile Alabama - Oklahoma City Oklahoma

Living in Oklahoma City and shopping for an FJR in the last year, you have three things going against you. 1. Wrong time of year 2. Gen I 3. High miles. I know, I know, FJRs can go 200,000 without a blink, but most motorcycles in this area, including FJR's, are rode less than 2000 miles a...
