Never ridden the 6-speed version, so I can't tell you about it. What I can say is my 5-speed goes way faster than ever necessary. The gear ratio spacing in the 5-speed is also such that my signature line is a lie: you can exceed 60 mph in second gear, which is enough to get you in trouble in many places. Maybe that extra gear gets me a smidge better gas mileage at freeway speeds, but you should factor in the extra shifts and how they'll prematurely wear out your left ankle and the leather on the top of your left boot. Of course, all that's moot with a A model.
