[QUOTE="Auburn, post: 1408991, member: 5661"] I am putting here since anyone who came to the tech meets over the years got to know Charlie. It is with great sadness for our family to let you all know that Charlie has attended his last Tech meet. He got really sick Sunday night. This was the first time in his life that Charlie ever got sick. We took him to the vet on Monday afternoon. Charlie was running a very high temp and was very dehydrated. He did a blood test to figure out what it was. They kept him overnight while giving him some antibiotics and IV fluids to take care of the temperature and dehydration. The vet called us the yesterday morning and said his condition is improving, but the blood test confirmed that Charlie had cancer. The vet asked if he could give Charlie some additional steroids, since he responded better than expected to the shot the night before. He said it might give Charlie a little more time, but it doesn't cause any pain and suffering for the dog. We said, yes, but made it clear if he is suffering we were not going to put Charlie through that. Then he called back about 7PM last night to tell us Charlie had turned for the worst and we better come down immediately. the whole family gathered at the vets and we facetimed in Alessa so she could be with us too (she is in college at WSU in Pullman). Charlie passed while we were all there. On thing most of didn't know about Charlie was he loved to sit down by the back fence and talk to the neighbors goats. They talked back too.
