My FJR only saw the dealer's service department for the initial 600 mile service. Take my bike exclusively to Dirtball Customs in Mesa. Don't let the name fool you, this independent shop works on all brands... does excellent work... and charges half what the dealers charge. The owner/manger (Josiah Brennan) was the service manager for a large BMW dealership in Chandler before starting his own shop. While I will admit that his shop is always filled with a variety of BMW tourers and adventure models, he routinely works on Wings, FJRs, Royal Enfields, and others. He is the mechanic of choice for several municipalities for their police bikes (BMW)... Town of Peoria, Salt River Indian Community, and others. Recently had my 26,600 service (valve check, radiator flush, spark plugs, etc.) performed there. Dealer quoted $800 for this "major" service... Josiah performed it for $390. Headed there this week to have my last set of PR2s mounted, balanced, and put on the bike in advance of an upcoming trip. He charges $30 per tire regardless of the bike... quite a bargain for the rear tire of a Wing. Where else can you see what the mechanic is doing to your bike while it's being done... The shop is located at 420 S Robson in Mesa (major cross streets are Broadway and Country Club). My bike is a Gen2... my friend with a Gen3 also takes his bike there... another buddy takes his '83 Aspencade there... Check him out... worth the trip.
