Cav - can't agree more. Quite frankly, I usually go to work when I'm sick unless I'm dying. Close my office door and press through. My work isn't physically demanding. If I can be sick at home, I can be sick at work.

I'd rather save my off days when I can play.

Personally, I don't care much for the expensive little chewy critters, but wifey loves 'em and it's an opportunity for a nice long sit down with the family. Eh - what the hell. It's Mother's Day.
