[QUOTE="rbentnail, post: 1287567, member: 13598"] I had a very similar conversation before my first get-together on a Kaw forum in Marlinton, WV in '10. Anyone who has been there knows- complete dead zone. Had to get the hotel desk to turn on the long distance for the room landline so I could call home in the evening to let her know I was ok. Saturday morning the motel was very close to the bottom of the clouds. So a couple of us hopped on our bikes and went thataways <-- up the hill. Very wet, very dense...then poof sunshine!! We had ridden high enough to see the crystal clear sky and were looking down on the clouds. First time I've been able to do that. The Cass Railroad, old coal burner. New friends, nice ride, nice day.
