"Wild Bill" Riley Higway Peg mounts

Hey folks, I just finished looking for info on the Wild Bill highway pegs. Gonna get a second set for FJR#2. Anyway, below is the most recent info I found that was posted on EZBoard. I copied the entire post and am duplicating it here. HERE is Wild Bill's original post on this forum.

So, without further adieu............

It’s time again to update information on our highway mounting plates and pegs. We now are offering 2 styles of pegs. The standard chrome plated, hinged pegs with ribbed top surface and a new style which is ½” longer also chrome plated, hinged and with a top surface with the imprint, Yamaha. Both pairs of pegs have a flat top surface, they are not round.

When an inquiry is received from an interested customer I respond with an e-mail which has an invoice with link to PayPal or you may pay with a personal check or Postal Money Order or just save the invoice until you are ready to order. Once payment is received order is normally shipped within 2 working days via Priority Mail.

DESCRIPTION AND PRICING: Aluminum mounting plates, glass bead blast with stainless steel screws, 6 bolts and spacers, $62.00, pair of chrome plated, hinged pegs with ribbed top surface pegs, steel bolt and washer, $26.00 or pair chrome plated, hinged pegs with top surface with imprint, Yamaha, steel bolt and washer, $35.00. Priority Mail and handling charges, $7.55. Mounting instructions are also included.

I was conviced that the Heli triple clamp replacement was in my future, until i got some feet time with the WB peg kit.

The abillity to transfer weight to the pegs removes the excess pressure on my hands.

They look low in the pic, for sure, but are actually pretty close to the pilot pegs.

I'll report back on first touchdown. :glare:

Won't the letters be upside down when folded?

V GER, what kind of pegs are those. I like mucho amounts.

Probably the Kuryakin, look similar in style to what I used to have on the ex-cruiser.

I think I have the same set-up. Kuryakin #7996 offset mounts. I have mine set so that the rider peg buttons still are the first to touch. They offer a full 360 degree adjustment. You do have to drill the mount hole of the bracket to 3/8".

er... that update has been posted here since terry sent me the photos months ago. with the geologically-slow progression of posts over there, a top-level post might be months old.

Kuryakyn - 8002 pegs with 7996 offsets

V GER, Looks like I have the same setup. Kuryakyn pegs, with the offset. I had em powder coated in black and no drilling was required. Just have to make sure the bolt for Wild Bills plate are the same size as there a two different sizes on the peg setup. PM. <><

hmmm, I had to drill the plates out to 1/2" to accommodate the offsets.

No biggee, but having a drill press would have been nice. :dribble:

A few of you may know that I had a ditch surfing incident a little over a month ago. The left side Wild Bill highway peg bracket was pretty flubbed up. I took my brackets off of the bike & over to my neighbor friend, Larry & he threw it on his table vice & straightened it out the best he could.

The process left my bracket looking pretty shabby... but useable so, I decided to ask Garauld if he'd powder coat the pair engine gray for me. I had high hopes of covering the imperfections caused by my boo boo.

I got in touch with him via PM. Gary said "oh, yeah sure I'll do that for you. Just send me a check for $12.00 & I'll get it done pronto". He gave me his address... & my brackets were off to spend some time in another state (which isn't unusual, but they're usually on my bike when that happens).

I got my brackets back from Gary on Friday & I put them on the bike Saturday. OMG! Why didn't I do this earlier??? Not only are the imperfections barely detectible. The brackets now blend really well w/ the fairing & engine (I've got an '04). You actually have to focus on the fact that they are definitely there. They now blend in well. They're not invisible mind you, but less attention is drawn to them as previously.

If anyone has thought about doing this in the past... do it. It is well worth the extremely reasonable charge.
