Hey guys. Can anyone tell me the best place to order a new TPS (3P6-85885-00-00)
for my 2010 FJR? It is not on the recall list according to my local dealer.

Have you looked through the Online Parts FAQ we have pinned? It's dated, but still very helpful and I used one of them last month.

And beyond your specific question and knowing it will be asked, why do you think you need a new TPS? What specific issue(s) are you having?

Delayed, jerky throttle response after warmed up and having been ridden for several miles. Blipping the throttle makes if fall on its face. It's snappy and responsive at cold startup and shortly thereafter. This happened on my last trip as well. Afterward I checked valve clearance (within specs) at 47K and sync'd throttle bodies. I thought the problem was solved until my lastest multi-day ride. Same thing.

There was a good write-up by ionbeam on the other forum that seems to best fit the problem description. I'm away from home at the moment but intend to ohm the TPS connection and run the diag when I return.

Just looking for the best source for the part at this point should it be my problem.

Not a common problem with Gen II but I'm sure there have been a few. (No recall on these)
More common issue for Gen I and early Gen III.

Anyway, several of the big parts houses offer similar pricing. I have used Partzilla in the past but, quite frankly, haven't had to replace much on my 2011 (100,000 miles) or on my previous 2007 (186,000 miles).

I think I would give it a Ring Free treatment and see if that helps. Could quite easily be an issue with dirty injectors.
Have you done the diagnostic for the TPS? Not always a definitive test but can help pinpoint a problem sometimes.

TBS unlikely to have that dramatic an effect. I would, however, look for an air leak. Throttle sync cap, hose off or the connection to the throttle bodies. If you had to do adjustments, I would suggest you check cam timing but there is no reason for it to be off with just a check. (Assume you haven't done anything that required removal of the cam chain tensioner?)

Did you check for fault codes? (specifically #14)

Ionbeam made quite a few excellent contributions and if I'm not misremembering that write-up you're referring to was actually posted here on this forum originally.

I believe in that write-up it was mentioned that a faulty TPS would show it symptoms more readily when it's heat-soaked which sorta fits your description of it happening after warming up. However that blipping and falling on its face thing is a little suspect. IF the TPS has an issue i.e. a worn spot, that is something that you should pass over as you go through the RPM range. When you hit that area the bike will stumble but it should pick right up where it left off as you move the throttle along.

You should be able to duplicate this on a next ride and each ride afterwards. Get the bike nice and hot (my '15 needed to be revved high for about 20 mins before it came on, flower-sniffing pace didn't do it) and then search for the stumble. Once you feel it note the exact RPM, should be happening within a small range and I'd bet it'll be on the lower end. Once you've got that you should be able to repeat it in any gear and at any speed once you hit that same RPM range each time. If the engine is misbehaving more than that you might want to investigate further as suggested above.

If you would be interested, I have a good used one off my 2006 A with 60K miles on it. I was having a driveability issue and couldn't rule out the TPS so I bought a new one and installed it. Driveability issue remained unchanged, so I think the old TPS is good. If you want it just pay the shipping from 95404.

That's the thing...it's very repeatable at lower RPMs. But I feel plenty of power cruising above it and pressing it while in the twisties.

Many thanks. I'll take you up on that. Paying >$170 for something I'm not 100% sure will fix it goes against my inner tightwadness. ;-)

I'll PM my address.

As I suggested above - check for fault codes...
(As well as the TPS diagnostic and air leaks)

Just got one from partzilla. 107-130 with tax and shipping, 150. Min for free shipping. Did not fix problem. Cannot test with ohm meter. Still searching.

All good suggestions. Thanks. I'll dive into it on my return home.

I gotta get this fixed while there's still good fall riding weather left in the great NW.
