Need Throttle Body Assembly Expert Advice

Perhaps a vacuum leak. A tried and true method is to spray WD around to see if you get an increase in RPM to find the spot.

Do you all get “challenged” at stop lights?

sure miss my '74 914 and would have loved to slip in a 6. You know Ferdinand Porche had some influence on some of Yamaha engine design.

What did you do to your FJR today?

check for tiny nicks/scratches feeling with fingernail then polish out. That will most likely fix it and save you hours of downtime and $$

Bad miss (intermittent) right after I thot, "Boy is this thing running GREAT"

check for stored codes in the Diag mode? you would see misfire I think if it was plug wires and caps if you cleared them last time

    Edit: Ground Connector?

check VIN for recall or look for the S4 harness Cut and solder the rest

Checking valve clearances on a 2007 with 40,000 miles.

as far as fork seals, always check for fine scratches and nicks and cleaning out with Seal Mate. Even a hairline scratch will pass oil. You can detect with bright light and a fingernail. The poor seal always gets blamed and repair shops cash in on it.

    Surging, Sputtering at 4,000-5,000 RPM

start with the EZ stuff I would guess. Check all hoses under tank, plug wires, critters in air filter (fun, getting that one out on an AE), battery voltage running. Doubt plugs bad or sync out with such low mileage.

    Fork Seals - AK20 forks

just be careful of solvents on caliper seals. I would use IPA alcohol instead. Good idea to take some time to pull the calipers, remove the pads and get a Q-tip and clean all the fork oil around them. Probably the most important item on your machine for safety in my opinion.

    Fork Seals - AK20 forks

had a leaking seal not cured by using Sealmate this go around and found a very fine vertical scratch barely detected by bright light and fingernail feel. I buffed out with 800-1200 wet/dry paper which cured the weep. It was amazing how much oil passed by this fine scratch. How it got there, I...
