Learning the quirks - Brake handle lever and switch

Not common that I know of, but you have proved the old saying "if you can't fix it with a hammer, it's a electrical problem."

I agree, sometimes KISS is best.

    U-Joint and Drive Shaft Discussion

The BMW uses 2 links to locate the rear diff. These 2 links create a virtual swing arm whose length and center can be ascertained by drawing a center line through each link as seen in the side view. Where these 2 lines cross is the center of the virtual swing arm. By playing with the relative...

    A funny thing. . . . (HD Switching Buddies)

FYI, the dyna family and the touring family use's a rubber mounted "a" engine (no counterbalance), the soft-tail family uses's a solid mounted "b" engine (counterbalanced). By the way I too had a 1980 Suzuki GS 1000e. Loved the bike, just had to put up with stators frying and cheap fasteners.

    A funny thing. . . . (HD Switching Buddies)

Let me play the devils advocate. I have ridden Japanese big four bikes my whole riding life, starting with a 1964 Yamaha 80 and ending with a 2007 FJR. I switched to Harley last year. I like the harley, I like how it put together and the fact that it is, for me, easier to live with. I don't...

    DIY valve clearance check/adjust

I doubt the shims are case hardened. The cam rides on the buckets so the buckets would be case hardened. The shims are just spacers between the buckets and the valve stems with no relative movement between parts.

    2012 FJR Heat Issues

I had some issue with the heat on a hot trip down south https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/131460-first-trip-on-the-feejer/. I was wearing riding boots but only blue jeans, slow cooked my left leg just above the boot. If I did another trip in hot country I would definitely wear a...

Stuff, and Stuff, Stuff I want to Do - How About You?

I was in the Navy from 71 to 75. I spent 2 years on the Enterprise home ported in Alameda, and spent 6 months in Bremerton in dry dock. During this time I had a Kawasaki 750 triple 2 stroke. I spent my free time riding all over with multiple weekends spent in Yosemite. Just before heading...
