    GEN II headlight access

My modulator for my ‘14 was plug and play. If the same company made one for the ‘18, I’d have one installed right now. This has been an informative thread. I’ve never thought much about headlight access, given mine are LED.

    Michelin Road 6GT

Besides inadequate pressure, one of the more common causes of premature wear to the front is braking into turns. Itll turn a front tire into a V shape in short order.

    Michelin Road 6GT

The 4GT’s are my all around favorite, and generally last the longest, for me. The 5GT front has a unique profile. I prefer it over all other tires for riding on the mountains. The 5GT rear doesn’t do anything special for me, so I can’t really justify the additional expense.

FJRF013.2: Recall ECU Reprogram (Post Trans Recall) (2016-2021)

Who told you not to ride it, if you’ve already had the trans recall done?

FJRF013.2: Recall ECU Reprogram (Post Trans Recall) (2016-2021)

You haven’t had the transmission recall done?

    Twisted Sisters

I rode 1,000 miles to Kerrville, rode the sisters, then 1,000 back. Last month. Not the pace that I’m accustomed to, being from the NC/ N. GA/E. TN area, but the views and the terrain were breathtaking.

FJRF013.2: Recall ECU Reprogram (Post Trans Recall) (2016-2021)

Mine got the reflash with the trans recall. In no hurry to get a re-reflash. It runs just as hard and just as fast as before the trans recall. It’s getting an (overdue) valve check today. I will be interested to see if adjustments are necessary. It’s been 50,000 miles since the last one. If I...

    2022 FJR?

The tracer is no replacement. It’s too small and not substantial enough to be stable at speed. It’s a lovely bike. If all I did was ride locally it would be a contender. And I still want those cases for my fjr.

    2022 FJR?

It’s still a production bike. They never (in modern times) held enough parts to cover even blips in the failure rate of a specific part. We aren’t getting leftovers. We are getting just enough, just in time parts, for the most part (no pun intended) in the 22 bikes. It’d be cheap to add TFT, and...

FJRF013.2: Recall ECU Reprogram (Post Trans Recall) (2016-2021)

It is first and second. It does not engage with the clutch in or out. It only engages with the clutch barely out. And yes. I’d never hit it naturally, but when it was being discussed, I intentionally induced it for science. :)

FJRF013.2: Recall ECU Reprogram (Post Trans Recall) (2016-2021)

New recall or TSB. Follow-on re-flash for those that had the transmission recall (and associated reflash) done. This one is a reflash of the ecu. Separate from the one performed as part of the transmission recall. Mod number 990152. Bulletin M2021-010R. Titled ECU Re-flash. From running my VIN...

    New recall?

There is already one in first and second. Neither is anywhere near the useable riding range. The letter from Yamaha (which I have not received yet- I read another affected USA owner’s letter), concerning the new flash, indicates that it makes it less restrictive, not more. It should be noted...

    New recall?

It is an actual recall and it is separate from the brake switch and transmission ones. This one is a reflash of the ecu. Separate from the one performed as part of the transmission recall. Mod number 990152. Bulletin M2021-010R. Titled ECU Re-flash. From running my VIN at...

    2022 Yamaha FJR

I will most likely own a leftover 21 or a new 22 soon, despite only having reached 85,000 miles on my 2018. I went from enjoying the chicken little posts every year that the fjr is no more, to being riveted by the “after the recall flash, my bike doesn’t run right anymore” posts. I was so...

    FYI 2nd Gear Recall

Good info. My 2018 performs just as well post recall as before. The shop did a superb job. That said, a spare ecu cannot be a bad thing to have. Glad it worked out.
