Not a "Reuben Run" but "The Last Hurrah" - Labor Day Weekend 1-5 September 2022

I have a guest (friend named Bill) that just informed me he would like to come. So make it blufjr 2, add one more FJR rider (he has two of them but may come on a FZ1), and he hasn't been to an FJR event (other than a Tech Session) since Moscow 2004.

    Oil filter

Buy the Yamaha filter socket, which is all metal and fits very tight. Never had a problem removing the filter. More of a problem getting it off the filter. It happened to be the third one I bought because the first two would slip as in strip out the hex end of the filter.

Not a "Reuben Run" but "The Last Hurrah" - Labor Day Weekend 1-5 September 2022

Registered and ordered meal. Yeah. Is the BW holding the rate offered way back when? Reason I'm asking is that I checked their online rate and it now $250+ a night of the event.

Just Another Epic Colorado Ride, Part 2

The Second Epic Colorado Ride: 2022, continued: Day 9: 403m. Can we beat any of the previous days? Maybe, maybe not. We head out of Colorado Springs on that same fun 4 laner, back to Woodland Park where we pick up hwy 67 to Deckers, Awesone. Then 126 to Silver Springs, beautiful, and US...

    Just Another Epic Colorado Ride

In 2015 a small group of us did a Colorado ride, and we thought it would be great to do another. I organized this in reverse and modified it to cut the days down to 12 from 14. Ended up only two or use could do it, but we had a great time. Below is a day by day report. Here is a Kurviger...

Lid retainer for side bag lid

GPRIDER, PM me your address, phone #, and I will try to get it out tomorrow, USPS. You will need the screws to install it, and it works just fine.

Lid retainer for side bag lid

I have one. Saved it after destroying the box unit and lid. Thought it may come in handy some day. It is yours, for what ever you would like to pay for it plus shipping.

    Bought used.. missing stuff

I made some special tools for removing the fairing that I carry. I find them useful when you have a battery problem and have to access the battery. The simple allen works but takes longer. I took a trip to the Ozarks last year, from Washington and added to the tool kit a jump start battery...

    Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultra

I ran 3 sets of Metzler ME880 with rear a 170/60ZR-17 and would get between 12-14K out of a rear, but then tried a Pilot Road and only got 8-9K, paid a little less, but the performance was so much better I never went back to the Metzlers. I only went to the 880 for the higher mileage. They...

Motorcycle For Sale 2004 FJR1300 for sale SAN DIEGO

The one I am riding, I bought in SF and never checked the key in the gas cap. When I stopped to get gas, I had the same problem. Only problem was I had to ride it home, Vancouver, wa. I bought a can of WD and applied it around the key and every so often I would try it, work it, etc...

    Michelin Road 6GT

I liked the road 5, but bought PR2's if available for Summer use and my favorite overall was the PR3s. I always got more miles out of the 3s vs. te 4s. Usual miles on the 3s was 7-9K and only 6-7K on the 4s. I like the idea of the sipping on the 3s and 4s and preferred them for fall, winter...

    2022 FJR?

Hi Hair, I think you are mixing up the FZ09 with the FJ09 as far as the seating position. I have had both FZ and FJ and what you describe is the FZ09 not the FJ. The FJ has a more relaxed riding position than the FJR, with the foot peg further forward so there is less knee bend and the foot...

    2022 FJR?

Since I have a (05) FJR and a (15) FJ 09, I would like to add a few observations. I have over 230K on the FJRs and just completed a 6K adventure to the Ozarks on it. I also have 106K on the FJ09, which took over all forms of riding from the FJR without any problem. At speed the FJ is very...
