I have a Gen II FJR (06 model) and was going to re-spring my rear OEM shock just last week myself with a spring that I purchased from RaceTech. I was successful in removing the shock and spring myself, but getting the spring off wasn't particularly easy. I ended up using a set of smaller car...
Not to highjack the thread, but I was also considering getting a pinlock shield for my Arai, but haven't ever seen a pinlock shield in person I'm curious how difficult it is to change the inserts... Is it time consuming or very easy to damage the seal in the process? I just know I've got to do...
It's great to see how satisfied you are the with RT rebuild of the front forks! I just finished doing the job myself but am unable to ride and get a feel for it as I'm now waiting for the G3-S rear shock to arrive in about 1.5 weeks or so. I had planned on only re-springing the rear shock in...
While I can't comment specifically on how satisfactory the Spencer seat modification is to the FJR seat (I have a Russell), I can say that I had it done to my Honda 919. Prior to the modification the seat was overly plush and tended to compact down to the pan over a 100 miles or so. Since the...
I guess no takers for my question about the possibly required 1.0mm bleed hole... Regardless, I came to the conclusion that since the valve is preassembled, that additional drilling wasn't necessary. If anybody knows or finds out differently, please let me know... I've completely reassembled...
I just received my Race Tech GV kit yesterday and am happy to be attempting to tackle this process myself with the included instructions and these great pictures... However, I have a question if anyone is familiar...
After printing the results from the Race Tech Digital Valving Search off of...
Can anyone tell me if it is still worthwhile to get the G2 throttle tube after installing a PCIII and doing the standard spring unwind? The difference was so significant after installing the PCIII, I wasn't sure if installing the G2 tube would still be noticeable or really beneficial... I...
Roy,
Can you please let us know if you plan on producing an additional batch of sockets? I missed out on the first go through but would be interested if you're making more... Thanks! -Wally
Well, I just pulled the trigger on all of the front end components (gold valve kit and springs) and just a spring for the rear shock today... I just couldn't swing the cost of the full custom rear shock right now as much as I'd like to... Hopefully the rebuilt front end and a properly sprung...
I'm watching this anxiously to see exactly what the details will be so I'll know just how much of the Race Tech goodness that I can afford! I'm afraid that doing it all might be out of reach... So wondering if I should focus on rebuilding the forks or getting the rear shock... Decisions...
Been wearing HJC CL-15 and then HJC CL-16 for the past couple of years but decided to take the plunge for an Arai Vector about a month back.
Here is my new, current lid:
I absolutely LOVE it! It's so much lighter and quieter than the HJCs I've been wearing. Additionally, the tighter fit...
If there's a group buy for the RaceTech set-up, I'm definitely interested! I haven't done anything aside from the recommended adjustments to the suspension and think getting the bike properly sprung and valved has just got to be wonderful! I'm sitting off to the side anxiously waiting to see...
If I had to pick my favorite farkle that is specific to the FJR, I'd have to be one of the many saying the Russell Day Long but in conjunction with the Heli-bar riser. The combination of those two farkles really is what made the bike ideally comfortable for miles and days of continuous...
