    Metzler Belt Separation

Well, it wasn't parrot talk for me. Eastbound on I-70, about 20 miles west of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. It was September, so heat wasn't a problem. We were cruising at 80 on a Saturday afternoon, four day weekend. Withoout any warning whatsoever; WHAM, tread separation, 80mph tank slapper. No...

    Wimpy Kickstand?

Short Hijack: Everytime I used the kill switch was an opportunity to forget to turn off the key  ; leaving the headlights on (TWO H-4's). And being single, with no woman to correct my every mistake :P , that was quite often. Now I only use the kill switch in an emergency. :cownoy:

    Purolator Pl14610 Oil Filter

I have the hiway pegs too. Yes, the PL 14610 will clear for install and removal. I use a strap wrench to tighten and remove. :)

    Rear Suspension Pivot Point Service

I removed the mufflers, two bolts each. Ran a steel bar across under the passenger peg brackets and SLOWLY raised each side, one click at a time on the jackstands, with my floor jack. Be SURE to fasten the bar to the peg brackets; if it falls over, IT'S YOUR FAULT!! I also found it easier to...

    Oil Filter Cost And Alternatives

I'm with Radman on this one, Pure One PL 14610. However, it IS blue. And when I put it on my Silver '04, I lost 10mph in each gear. :cownoy:

    Yamaha Valve Train News

Shorter valve quides cannot be a good thing for us. Less load bearing surface area. Unless NONE of the tickers had intake valve problems. YMMV and IMHO :)

    Audiovox Dip Switch Settings

I saved this sometime ago, it may help: Originally posted by Twistyroad: Sunday was “test flight” day. I spent about two hours of riding time in 5~10-minutes pieces.... ride and test, change a DIP switch, ride and test, change a DIP switch, etc., etc. Yes, I was riding with the right side...

    Michelin Pilot Road

As written, makes it sound like both are the same maker. The Road Attacks are Continentals and the Roads I think the guys are talkin' bout are Michelin's Pilot Roads. :cownoy:

    Power Commander Didn't Help It

IIRC and that would be a VERY BIG IF: I think my dealer opens the air screws 1/4 a turn at a time, then tests. Then another 1/4 turn, etc. The 'big if' comes in at: if they are air screws and you open them 1/4 turn, you'd be LEANING the 'off throttle' response and that just doesn't sound right...

    Sidestand Pads

I read online about someone welding about a 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 x 3/16" thick steel pad to their sidestand. I don't remember the actual measurements. Sounded like a good idea so I did mine. Since it's welded on, even I haven't lost it......yet. Warning: do NOT center the pad on the sidestand foot...
