I was on a group ride yesterday and one of the guys had a Tracer 9GT. Sorry, but it looked and felt like a toy compared to my FJR. I would not want to be on that bike in some severe crosswinds like I recently encountered in Montana. Also, the chain drive is a deal killer for me.

What it needs? TFT dash (current dash washes out badly in sunlight), quick shifter, and TPMS. Then it would be perfect and these would have minimal affect on price.

The 2005 was Galaxy Blue, not Cobalt Blue.

Mine is a '16 ES with LED lighting.

I have my FZ-1 installed under the seat along with my Gerbing electric heat controller. I ran the red trigger wire back to the tail light wire and tapped it. I installed a bullet connector so I can easily disconnect it if needed.

I had an '03 FJR and then went to the dark side (too much heat on the '03) and got a '10 C14 (first year of its major design change that still remains today).  Then went back to a '13 FJR and then to a '16 FJR.  I agree with everything that has been said here--go for a Gen 3 FJR, no comparison...

I just don't understand why it's so important to have concealed fasteners.  My Kawasaki H2 SX has exposed fasteners and it's a breeze to take off the plastic.
