07, 41000 miles and the front left fork is leaking oil. Enough that it has saturated the break pads and covered the left rotor with a black sooty grease. And reduced the braking enough to notice.
So I'm rebuilding the forks. Have not done any maintenance on them prior to now.
The fork...
Just really saying hi.
2007 FJR 41,000 miles
Still on the original battery.
When not riding its on a battery minder 3 to 7 days a month.
I ride in the winter with heated gloves and a vest. The FJR does not have enough to keep the battery up at idle when I have all the heat turned up. Fine...
2007 fjr, just found my front fork is leaking as the left disk is dark with a lot brake dust and oil. I went out for a short ride today and noticed the front brakes were not as stoppy as normal. Looks like the left fork is leaking.
I don't think I want to tackle changes these myself. Any...
Just took off PR2 and replaced with PR3s. Only have 3 miles on the new set. I'll post back in a few weeks. I'm headed to Michigan so I'll have a few thousand miles by then. From what I've read and seen I think I'll like them.
OK I've been home for a couple of days, but had so much fun I was still riding in my sleep.
Moosehead and JohnD had a great time riding with you. Next time no gravel and dirt roads - he said with a half smile -
Thanks to all who helped put together another great get together.
I use the side stand while fueling and I"m always, well almost always, off the bike.
Center stand is mostly for level, secure areas. Sometimes when parked out overnight I feel it is more secure on the center stand.
We all have stories to tell about dropping the bike, but don't really want to...
My license plate bracket just broke. Not a big deal, but it's costing me $50 to replace it. Actually found it online for $33. Still seemed a lot for my easy solutioin 4 years ago.
When the bike was new I put one helmet lock on the right side of my license plate bracket. You can see the...
Mine is much closer than yours but I still wondered how far I could go when it started counting up at the low fuel warning.
I kept a speadsheet on miles, gals, mpg, how many mile it counted up etc for a lot of miles. It varies depending on all the mpg parameters etc but I found out that on my...
I too have ears I want to protect from the constant noises while riding. Last year on a coast to coast ride I was alternating between my two throwaway plugs. I Alternate as they each wear in the ear a little different.
Well on a I'll try anything for relief from the noise and the pressure on...
Very positive experience.
On a VA to CA ride he helped get us connected with bike to bike solution. Starcom.
Helped out with great advice and didn't get pissed off when we lost a cable mid ride.
He's on my good guy list!!
I put it on the schedule and then I went and rode to California in July. I wanted to ride from Virginia Beach to San Fransisco on 2 lane roads. The trip out was great. I left the bike in CA and flew home to work. I thought I'd get back and make the trip to Nafo on the way home. I would have...
I just installed the starcom with my zumo 660. It works quite well. I didn't think I would use it for music, but I do. I didn't think I would use it with my phone (blue tooths to the zumo along with all the contact information) but I have. I won't be using the phone too much on the rides as...
