Thanks guys. Let me amend the Q a little bit. Starter turns fairly fast for just a split sec, then winds down almost to the point it wont start bike. Does that change any opinions?

08 Gen II was getting a bit hard to start, with gradually slower cranking a few years ago. I replaced a battery with a fresh lightweight li type, and it surprised me how fast the starter cranked. Fired up FAST. So now a few years later, seems like it cranks slower again, same basic symptoms...

About two years ago, I replaced the oem bulbs with Sylvania 9003 HB2 bulbs (Silverstar Extra). I had read that they might be a bit fragile, and prone to a short lifespan, but I tried them anyway. They are whiter color and brighter than orig, so I was happy with them, and made a note to check...

Thanks guys.  I THOUGHT I did the bleeding right with a vacuum bleeder, but I will give it a go again, and maybe try these tricks.

Hi all.  I have an 08 with 80k+ miles on it.  It seems like the lever needs to be pulled in almost to the bar to get no engagement/free spin.  I have flushed the clutch fluid and bled the system (i think effectively), and have checked the lever adjustment to find "space".  Is there anywhere else...
