You've got to ride thru the Badlands. There is a really cool old motel completely redone with great owner called Rocket motel in Custer. -

I make it a point of avoiding the entire area for at least 2 weeks on either side of the rally. EVERYTHING (rooms, food, etc.) costs...

Go to the sturgis rally site for ride maps and local attractions. Don’t go there during rally unless you want to be stuck in slow moving...
