Took my `08 in for the 12000 mile service and complained of poor shifting and getting stuck in neutral from take off (when shifting from 1st to 2nd, would get stuck in neutral and unable to shift without pulling over. Yamaha covered the repair under the extended warranty and the service guy...

Grats, ask them if they soaked the clutch plates? It`ll make for a much smoother ride.

I`ve seen some post where the folks here use a 2x4. They`ll ride up on the board to get the rear wheel up a little, then use the above method.

You know you could turn this into a profession. Get hired to ride in front of the top marathon runners up there. You can provide hydration and a cooling mist, nor more wasted little dixie cups...think of all the trees that`ll be saved :rolleyes:

I would be curious also as to what Yamaha would work out for you on newer model. Possibly recoup the money(and more). Good luck with it all and hope it all works out.

Yep, those 2 screws under the screen are the ones you have to look up from under it. After those are off, then the others can go, just leave the middle one for last. When installing, put the middle one in first, not too tight though.

I wrapped a towel over them wet, and soapy puppies and that helped alot.
