Mark, There are several handlebar adapters, which accept any 7/8" (22 mm) handlebars. ABM offers a nice billet adapter, sold in many places. It replaces the top steering crown (triple clamp). You may need re-routing or extensions for cables and hydraulic hoses.

Allnight, If you do find a sewing ace to do the job as a friendship service, take just the seat to them for the repair, so they can do the job comfortably, at home. The stitches should go beyond the rip, maybe half an inch (1 cm) further at each end. Just a thought . . .
