Is the preload on the rear shock on a ES adequate ?

Don't judge it until you try it for yourself! If it doesn't feel right you can change it to firmer or softer depending on requirements at the time. I love having that adjustability. I'm sure it will be able to handle whatever you do with it. I'm 220 lbs and with the wife on the back, side cases...

Is ES worth the money ?

+3 for yes Definitely most other manufactures charge a lot more for electronic adjust-ability.

    Scotch or Bourbon?

Single malt Scotch! I'm not allowed to drink Tequila in public anymore, so it has to be Scotch.

Moosehead Lake, Maine. Well, the ride started off good....

Yes Mice and squirrels, and chipmunks quite the nuisances. Used to have an affen pinscher, he took care of all of that. They are a one person dog though, really smart and full of energy. Hope your bike runs better when you get it back!

    Headlights

Make sure you get the rough service bulbs, they last a lot longer for a few dollars more. When I changed mine the shop only had one in stock. The other bulb (low beam) blew a week later! Yes you should change them together, saves a lot of hassle.

Natural Gas to Propane BBQ conversion

Converted a fire pit from natural gas to propane. the gas man just drilled out the jet, less then a 1/16" bigger as he didn't have the bigger size jet. They usually have them though so just go see a plumbing and heating shop. They probably have it in stock and they can't be too costly.

    Yuasa battery - Alternative.

You get what you pay for! I bought a cheap battery for my truck, a year later I bought a better battery so I won't have to replace it again for at least five years of warranty.

    front end shake

Not sure if this applies to a wing, but when you retorked the front axle, did you tighten the shaft then the pinch bolts or tighten the pinch bolt first? That could throw it off when turning one way and not the other way.
