When I bought my 2013 there were no freight or setup charges. Dealer charged $199 service fee for paperwork I'm guessing. Only other charges were tax and title fees.

I've been leaving them on the bikes during the cold season since 1997. Never had a problem. If someone steals it some day I'll just get another wireless controller like I use up front. Those are pretty sweet.

Heated gear under a mesh jacket with a liner works just fine. If still cold I just throw my rain jacket over the top to stop the wind and you will be toasty. I've ridden down into the 20's like that all day long.

We have portable controllers. Her's is velcro'd to the top of the left saddlebag in front of the latches.

I run my gear through powerlet outlets also. I use the ones by the seat lock for my wifes gear and are wires hot so that my battery tender can be plugging in when not riding. Mine gear has a plug up front. I also have a voltmeter to keep an eye on the charging system. That is very important...

The jacket needs to be fused at 15 amps. That was per Gerbings back when I bought mine.

800 miles in 12 -14 hrs is pretty much my comfort limit. I did 1100 once in 24 hrs but stopped for 5 hrs sleep in a motel.
