So in the end all you notice is the fuel cut disable? That's really the only thing I would like anyway - I don't want tiny insignificant timing changes that mean it needs premium to please a butt-dyno.
"but the error should be minimal"
Yes, it is minimal. But when you are measuring 0.15mm as go and 0.14mm as no-go...minimal IS critical.
Yes, it's very important to do it right. I won't convince people like you that don't know otherwise, but my thoughts are for those about to do it and why...
Again, an assumption. They didn't. They just didn't specifically make it perfectly round, because it doesn't need to be. You are really reading in to what's not there man.
If I misunderstood then I apologize...there are more than a few that don't like my vids ;)
Tip - I use a quick detailer spray on the front facing parts in between washes - takes just a couple min to wipe off the bug guts and such.
And for anyone else that thinks "feeler gage measurements are subject to some interpretation" - you aren't using them correctly LOL
As I stated in the vid - you find the one that does not fit...then go down until one does. That's what you write down. There is zero room for 'interpretation'.
Ooooh i detect some failed snark It's called, I value my things and keep them nice. I wash it when dirty...and ride all year...on multiple bikes
Your assumption that's it's perfectly round is simply incorrect. That's your problem. There is a single point where the spec is to be...
#1, you don't check them parallel to the ground. They are somewhat horizontal, but that is not the spec. #2 There is enough to change the reading just several degrees from correct. It's a moot point, you do it right or don't do it.
Suzuki and BMW were both there with demos along with many other smaller vendors - they just didn't want to pay the Speedway slot fee and setup at local dealer lots. Dumb move IMO as most people will not want or have the time to go all around the city for that stuff to multiple locations unless...
Often times you can just closely look at the paint - line up the marks on the screw head with the sides back where it was. It was most likely fully (lightly) seated.
Apples and oranges. The older BMW systems on the 1200s are clunky. Not all are. The current BMW Assist Pros are butter smooth, as are Ducati, as is this Healtech on the FJR.
