    Raising the Forks..

I guess my thinking is that since the FJR is kind of set up to ride lower in the back from the factory, that might be one of th reasons that some people get the funky steering shake, and adding more weight over the front would help that out. I have also seem a kit on WH that is a link for the...

    Raising the Forks..

Has any one tried raising the forks 5mm to 10mm above the triple clamp? Just thinking it would be an easy way to get the tail up a little and add weight over the front a bit more, and shorten the wheel base a bit, letting the bike turn quicker and hold a tighter line. Anyone? Sean

Air Box Part/Mod From Wild Hair

I would love it, if I could get together with a couple of FJR owners here in central florida, and do a swap test to see how my bike feels to someone thats running stock. It would have to be anyone with a gen one bike to keep it all in perspecitve. Jestal, thanks for the education. I have been...

Air Box Part/Mod From Wild Hair

Isnt this mostly true on a pressurised air box? The air box for the FJR is just a place for air to enter the fiter, and the to the "stacks" into the TBs.. Since theres no ram-air on the FJR, the box isnt pressurised. Like the stock box on my CX-7, it was a big restriction, but add a cold air...

Air Box Part/Mod From Wild Hair

To me smoother is when the motor feels like its breathing better, or easier. So theres more of a willingness to rev. When theres a restricktion on the motor, theres usually a caorseness that you can feel/hear..I know this sounds crazy, but becuase of being a studio engineer/producer my...

Air Box Part/Mod From Wild Hair

I found this air box part/mod from Wild Hair, while looking for FJR parts on there site. Its kind of the mod that I had already done, except that theres is chrome, and well on my mine, just cut the inside tube from where it goes to the air filter, and took off the snokal, theres is much smoother...

    Playing with tire set-ups

So, Ill be honest and say that I wasnt exactly happy with the Conti Road Attack Cs..Over the past 1000 miles, the rear has been great, but the front, well not so much. Its has a kind of vauge feeling to it, and it twitched after the first 100 miles. Now these same tires on my FZ1 felt great...

    STOP!!!!---Farkel Time!!!

Thanks for that info. I went and took my out for a ride again today, and it feels better than it did at stock levels, but I might try to play with it both ways and see what happens. I wonder if there was a reason for the GEn 2 bikes to have a differant setting than the Gen 1 bikes....hum...

    '06 mileage question

I wish him good luck but you will then have to get an '08 to keep upp with old Dad. I thought that the 2003 to 2005 bikes where lighter and faster...... :D

    STOP!!!!---Farkel Time!!!

Well, Its been a few weeks since my rear wheel issue was resolved, and I thought that it was time to dip my hat into the fakel pool. So, I made a few changes to my FJ. First, I got me a set of Leo Vinci cans. I love the sound. So nice and deep, and just right when your on the gas, but, mellow...

    An FJR Story

I just checked my title, and its clean, no re-build/repair on it..The state of florida is pretty hard core about that stuff. If your a dealer and you sell a car or bike down here with out disclosing that it was in a wreck/rebuild you not only can get fined, but you have to return the money to...

    An FJR Story

Thanks for all the replies about this. I just came back from the dealership where the bike is being fixed at, and I had them check the front rim. I stood there a watch the rim on the balancer and it rolls straight and true. Then they pulled the tire, and theres no visible damage. Then while the...

    An FJR Story

About 6 weeks ago I became the proud owner of a 2005 FJR. Very clean bike, it had only 2700 miles on it. I got her at Orlando Yamaha and Kawasaki, they gave me a good deal on the price, and seemed easy to work with. So, after about a week of taking small rides, and dealing with daily rain, the...

    Rider Magazine - December 2007 Sport-Touring Shootout

Id argue that the comfort factor for the Honda is based on rider to rider. Last year my wife and I rented a Honda ST1300 at Eagle Ridders near Pigon Forge. We had the bike for 3 days, and after 3 days of 200 to 250 miles a day, we hated the ST1300. The stock seat did not work for us at all. It...
