What is the battery voltage running. ?  Might have another issue.  DC voltage searching for a ground can short other things.   

Snow all day and cold. 14° F  this morning pushing 26°F  now snow rapping up not much 2-3" . Last weekend nice low 60's  road a few miles.

I'd stay with OE mirrors many aftermarket parts are poor quality with fit and function. There are many small LED lights that could be attached to mirror housing with a little thought.. Wiring a little more difficult to hide for a clean install. Connections are easy just need to tap into...

Replace it. Most automatic chargers go to about 14 or so volts and then cycle as voltage drops. 12.4 starting voltage is a little low but should come up with a good charger. Cold batteries charge slower and take more amps. A very dead battery won't charge with many Float type chargers until...

May just be a little dirt on O-ring at tank connection then. Try to clean it and check for leaks again . Leave tank up and turn key on this will pressurize lines and recheck for leaks.

What did you remove? Gen 1 has feed and return lines to-from pump. Feed to fuel rail is a O-ring type connector. Return is clamped hose.O rings can fail or clamps are loose. No need to disconnect any fuel lines just prop tank up. Fuel level must be about 1/4 tank or it will overflow from neck...

Threads up stays full. Any other position it can drain back into oil sump.. AND it will even with a good anti-valve just takes enough time. A better one is ideal at engine start up oil pressure comes up faster= less engine wear when filter is full. It's only a second or two until pump fills it...
