    Adventure Series

It's mainly different from the ones that never leave the pavement. Which is what, 99% of them? 7km of dirt road between me and the pavement. Can't count the number of times it's been suggested I need an "adventure" bike. Have had pickup owners that didn't want to visit on account of getting...

    Adventure Series

The old Vetter fairings were the icing on the cake. Probably reinforced already, if not they'll soon need to. Have repaired many, they tended to break just ahead of the front mounting deck. Imagine you just conquered that trail on your hotshot dirt bike while wearing expensive riding gear...

DIY tire changer, a different take

I'm flattered anyone would think it's worth selling, but it's just a one-off. I enjoy wasting time on things like that but would rather make some new contraption than do any production work. Here's another interesting take...

DIY tire changer, a different take

My previous diy tire changer did the job but I cursed it with every use. Not enough hands, forever putzing with clamps. I finally got around to building something better. Pretty simple construction and like many others except that it has upper and lower bread breakers always in place so that...

    Heat shield missing

Important rule of wrenching - there shouldn't be any leftover parts. I can imagine how a careless or harried mechanic could forget to replace the heat shield, but there's no excuse for not letting you know once it turned up surplus in the shop. If you're sure it was them, I'd not only bring it...

    Bike porn .....

I'm thinking that the OP had something more like this in mind.

    Bike porn .....

I suppose I've hung out with so many would-be comedians that I understood him perfectly. I did have a moment's pause over the tennis reference and I'm happy it wasn't something that comes to mind readily. My only question is what does FNG stand for? I searched the form - nothing. Field Not...

Nelson/Nakusp British Columbia roads and sights to see?

These aren't exactly on your way, but they could be if you turn the trip into a big loop. Salmon River Rd between Yankee Flats and Salmon Arm. https://www.dreamcycle.ca/ https://hikekamloops.ca/the-pillar/ If you visited all those stops in a single day you'd be tired but happy. They're all...

    Hearing Aids

I've been wearing hearing aids 15 hours a day for the last 6 weeks. (aids behind the ears, speakers that they insist on calling receivers for some reason, in the ear, open domes) Amazing tech, well worth the PITA element if your hearing loss is bad enough. It took about a month before I stopped...

    Dumb Assery Rev2, dCarver style

I feel your pain. And it's cute that your bike has a name. I generally only address mine when pushing it uphill in a parking lot or whatever. Then it's "you fat f%&king pig." I solved pig's main problem in the shop by building this. (photo link at end, I think) Ride on, rotate, ride off. And I...

    I'm a dumbass

I'm somewhat sure I've topped that, countless times. Fortunately, the worsening CRS that causes most of the issues allows me to forget the details. Pretty soon I should be able to clearly remember that I've never screwed up.

    Valve check problem

    Throttle sensor issue?

    Thank you, DesignFlaw06!

Wow. That made me consider how little thought I've given to maintaining proper humidity in my topcase for some of the delicate things I keep in there. What IS the correct humidity for fig bars and wagon wheels anyway?

    Thank you, DesignFlaw06!

Nice job and all well and good except, where's your theme? Mine is Star Wars, courtesy of the local Dollar Store. Bags are velcroed to the sides of the topcase. Started off a couple years ago as a trial to see what worked, ended up being good-enough.

    Gen3 Throttle Cable Removal technique?

IIRC, there are some small bolts that allow a bracket at the throttle bodies to be detached sufficiently.
