The CA-1 down and back was one of the wife and I's best rides. We were so lucky. Everything about it was fantastic. Weather was perfect.

I bought a new battery and tried to install it. Ran into a problem described by others. The size of the battery is critical. The new one was identical in every spec except width. Slightly wider. As a result the new battery did not fit in the tray. Sits too...
The battery is not dead - it was pulled and put on maintenance. The bike was delivered without it. If there's any issue with it I will be replacing it with a new one.

The wife and I have not been on a long ride for a while nor have we been out east since ... Damn before we were married! We may make it out to meet with you folks if there's room nearby ( doesn't have to be at the same place )
If I pull the batteries and store them at home they'd be in my winter-cold garage. That seems to defeat having them with the bikes in warm storage.

To get the longest life out of this type of battery is it better to let it discharge a bit and recharge (would this simulate normal - un-stored - use) or remove all possible drains and just top it up occasionally? And is it any different from the old unsealed battery from my SRX. I have not...
