We left The Hub Sunday around 10am, and missed all the rain. We headed north up 65 to Osceola, IA and stayed the night there. I finished my 860 mile ride home by 2:30 Monday. I had a great time and put on 2295 miles, and wore out a rear tire. The weather was perfect. It made up for '09 and '10...

I could be in, but I've never torn into a set of forks before. Would there anyone there who has done a rebuild before?? I'm all for saving a little $$ by doing work myself.
I'm clueless as to parts needed though.
Erik.
After 26k miles, the forks on my '06 need to be serviced. One side leaks oil bad. I have them off, but I'm not sure where to take them to be repaired. Any suggestions??
Thanks, Erik.
I was there last year. It rained every day I was on vacation, and I still had a great time. I'll be going back there again this year. The weather has got to be than last year. :yahoo: :yahoo:
I've placed 3 or 4 orders with them. I've always had great service. But then again I didn't try to cancel my order... It's not THEY changed their policy to screw with YOU.
It was raining that day. John and I took the trolly/bus around town. We stopped for a quick snack just up the hill from the photo and when we walked out it had quit raining. We walked back to the Best Western. Up hill! :dribble:
Here's a link to more pics from the trip. There are a few in...
First pics from the ride. clicky here It was a nice day for a ride, maybe a little cool, but still nice. I put on 215 miles. Thanks Gramps for putting this together.
My turn..... I'm in for the ride, but won't make breakfast. I'll be late to Perkins, but I'll be there, gassed up and ready to go, in time for kickstands up!
I have been PM'ing with Gramps (Marc) and have agreed to take up the slack and ride sweep. My cell # if you should get lost or have a problem is 651.366.7347. I'll keep it on vibrate and in a chest pocket. Should be fun, there's some nice roads on the route. I probably ride slower than most, if...
Funny that I should find this post today. I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on an '09 Candy lime green ZX-14 and picked it up yesterday. The bike is PURE EVIL, scary fast and silky smooth.
Marc, Neat video. Most of the roads were good with just a bit of left over sand on the road. County Rd-D, from SS to N was the exception. It was covered with sand. On the video it looks like a red/tan road, thats ALL sand. Thanks for riding along.
