    Yamaha's repair part for S4

That cable with the white tag is the recall fix cable that's attached to spider S4 and goes to the battery. In my spider case last year, disconnecting that cable revealed a failed S4 (scorch marks) that ultimately resulted in Yamaha agreeing to replacing my entire wiring harness at their cost.

New HeliBar design - anyone using? Comments?

Just to remind anyone interested in the Heli bridge but hesitate due to the controversial look of the brake line extension, there is an alternate solution to the extension... a replacement (longer) brake line. Refer to the following post...

Has anyone purchased a Top Sellerie Comfort Seat (Euro Mototard)

Hey Redfish, you said: "We still have the seat, we keep it for a spare. It is nice to have when someone sends their seat off for customization. It keeps the bike rideable." I'm curious, what did Dad replace the Top Sellerie seat with? Thanks, Rich

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

Look rbentnail, I don't want to turn this into some kind of feud. The sarcasm came from the " How long have you been riding? Do you not know that we (the collective "we") actually do this stuff to motorcycles?" That actually has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. This forum is open...

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

Jeez, rbentnail, I take issue with your inference that I've been "whining"! Sarcasm really isn't necessary either.

    Happy Birthday Fred W

Happy Birthday Fred! Thanks for all the help you've provided me since I've been on the forum.

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

Ken, I'll never know if when the original recall bypass harness was installed in 2011 if it was done correctly. I can only speculate that when the recall was performed that it was either not done correctly(bad cable? not installed correctly?) or that the connector already had damage that was...

    Cautionary Tales about Seth Laam!

I'm struck by how the tone of this thread has changed over time. The OP, kampod, took a lot of grief for that first post. My, how the worm turns! It seems like after 253 post on the topic, that maybe kampod wasn't so off base after all.

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

Thanks for the advice Ken, I'll take that into consideration. At least at this point I'm confident(relatively) that the new harness has been installed correctly per Yamaha Technical Service Bulletin M2011-003R. Regards Rich

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

UPDATE: I called Yamaha customer relations to follow up on my harness install to make sure it was done according to the Yamaha Technical Bulletin M2011-003R. Recall that what has been in question is whether new harness that was just installed on my 2007 (P/N 3P6-82590-11-00) that supersedes...

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

I don't want you getting the wrong impression, rbentnail. I've got a new harness, I'm simply trying to make sure that the new harness install has been done correctly and if the new harness that supersedes the original needs the "additional wire sub-lead" of the original 2011 recall or not...

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

To follow up more on Fred's work regarding the wiring harness part number caper... 1) On Partzilla, https://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2007/FJR1300A+-+FJR13AW/ELECTRICAL+2/parts.html it says the wiring harness for the 2007 (my year) as: WIRE HARNESS ASSY...

Do I Have a Spider Problem?

Fred, thanks very much for that! I'll report back what Yamaha tells me. Just one thing... my bike is a 2007, not a 2006. That would mean that my original harness part number was 3P6-82590-60 (per your investigation). But my NEW harness number is 3P6-82590-11, not 3P6-82590-61 Here's a photo...
