    '07 Final Drive

Update to say the shop is finished and could find nothing wrong with the driveshaft or FD. They cleaned and relubed the splines and changed the FD oil. Will be picking it up tomorrow and putting 500 miles on it over the weekend.

I don't know how to insert pics, so here are the links. These links show the rear rim. https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/571/img0544nl.jpg/ Uploaded with ImageShack.us https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/37/img0543ii.jpg/ Uploaded with ImageShack.us...

    '07 Final Drive

Appreciate both links - good info. The oil appears to be coming from the bottom of the FD. I will try to get some pics tomorrow. This trip I was traveling light, so I left the pressure where it was. When I load the bike up I do pump up the pressures to 40 front/42 rear. Running those...

Right at 6,000 miles on Michelin PR2 - it's not cupped. I've never seen this "stuff" on either of my rims. Still, hoping for the best...

2007 FJR with a little over 50,000 miles - I bought the bike new. I did a once over of the bike this morning before going to work and everything looked good, front tire was about 1 psi lower than I normally start with, but figured it would be ok. Jumped on it after lunch to head up to Augusta...

    SADDLEBAG BARREL LOCK

Was hoping someone would have the size. I couldn't find it in the Bin-O-Facts either. If no one posts by tomorrow AM I will start hitting local hardware stores.

    SADDLEBAG BARREL LOCK

One of mine is missing and I can not find a part number or at least the correct size to replace it. Long road trip starting Friday morning and I'd like to have this taken care of first thing tomorrow morning. On a positive note, the security key from Garmin is the perfect size to tighten them...

    LD-riding in 20F-40F weather gear-

When I am making long rides and the temps are below 40° I wear wicking shorts (UnderArmour, LDComfort, etc), polypropylene long-johns, and wicking pants under First Gear HT II Overpants w/ liner. A little bulkier than I like, and not quite as warm as electrics, but suitable for all my riding so...

Warm N Safe customer service ROCKS!!!

I bought W&S gloves & jacket prior to last winter and used the stuff down into the teens here in Norfolk. For longer rides I use a base layer of UnderArmour Cold Gear (compression fit), then the W&S safe jacket, then an UnderArmour Cold Gear loose-fit mock turtleneck, under my First Gear...

    Bill Mayer Saddle

She also doesn't like the corbin I have now. What does she not like about the Corbin? With my BMS, the seat feels harder than my stock seat did. Short rides/around town, I didn't see (or feel) a comfort improvement. On the open road, after several hours in the saddle, the BMS never got...

    Bill Mayer Saddle

I have a BMS that I bought used from another forum member - he bought the bike used and the BMS on the bike did not fit him. While my BMS was not made for me - the guy it was made for must be pretty close. I rode 1,060 miles in under 16 hours back in July and rode around locally the next day...

    Proper riding gear

For the past 3 years I have used a First Gear Kilimanjaro 4 jacket & First Gear HT Overpants exclusively when making any long rides or when there is a chance of rain locally. I've ridden from Norfolk, VA to Natchez, MS via Jacksonville, Key West, and Pensacola, FL and back to Virginia via...

Hit a deer with my '03 pride and joy

Surely glad to hear you are OK! As for ABS, all I can say is I'll never wonder whether I could have braked harder!
