    Risers

I have the GenMar Risers and it made a big improvement in comfort. No cable/line change was required.

    Considering an FJR

I have only owned a Gen II FJR. Each time I ride it, I am reminded of what a great bike it is. Buying used, either from a dealer or a private owner, it would make sense to have it checked out by a mechanic that you trust and to talk to the most recent owner about the history and maintenance...

Reduced buzzy vibration by changing driveshaft oil

I agree and I am also skeptical. However, that is the only thing that was different and after putting in the more expensive driveshaft oil, the buzzy vibration was significantly reduced.

Reduced buzzy vibration by changing driveshaft oil

Yesterday I had a service done by the dealer and the tech changed the driveshaft oil but didn't use the oil that the factory recommends for the FJR but instead used the standard Yamaha driveshaft oil. I had beeen using the Yamaha recommended oil. After the service was completed, I rode the...

How many times can you reuse the driveshaft drain plug washer/gasket?

Thanks for the replies. I used a new washer on the drain plug and re-used the one on the filler bolt. No leaks so far.

Genmar risers- good value for added comfort

I had the Genmar handlebar risers installed on my FJR today and the added comfort is well worth the price of the risers. It is one of those things that I wish I had done right after I got the bike.

    It's a disease but I don't want a cure

The FJR continues to amaze me for it's ability to do so many things so well.

    about to do it

My FJR had some buzzy vibes during the first couple of thousand miles. At about 2500 miles most of the buzziness went away and it rides very smooth now.

    Riding Pants

I have the FirstGear HT2 overpants and rode in low 40s rain yesterday and stayed warm and mostly dry except for a little water around the cufffs of my jeans which I think was my own fault for not securing the cuffs of the overpants tightly enough.

Comparison of my 06 FJR to my '10 Concours

Very good review. You might just have a second career as a motojournalist. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

    Touring Boot

Another vote for Tourmaster Solution Boots. Very comfortable to walk in and good protection from wet and cold. Fit true to size for me and the only break-in was that at first, it was difficult getting them on and off.

    Sargent Front seat

Many times people will buy a seat and not like it, sell it, and try something else. It probably makes sense to buy the front only and while you are figuring out if you like it, you can find out how much it bothers you having the stock rear seat.
