    Sena 20S, 10R, 30K slim speakers

I read the numbers at Revzilla but didn't believe it because that's about the same as the regular speakers.  I was hoping it was wrong and that someone here had direct experience hence the first line of my post. "Anyone had both standard and slim speakers of the newer style?"     Sorry for...

    Sena 20S, 10R, 30K slim speakers

Anyone had both standard and slim speakers of the newer style?    I have a new helmet and the speaker pockets are kind of shallow, the standard speakers stick out a bit.   I contacted Sena and the rep told me that the "slim speakers" are .2mm thicker than standard but 5mm smaller in diameter. ...

    Middle fork bushings

FYI, this tubing makes a perfect driver for the middle bushing on Gen2 forks. https://https://www.mcmaster.com/1750t31 I used a 1/4 hex 12v impact driver to put the cartridge bolts back in. They probably aren't torqued to 25ft/lb but their not torqued to 100 either. A little blue Loctite so...

    Tire Stand and Bead Breaking

I use a Harbor Freight bead breaker that I padded with some old garden hose. I use a dirt bike tire changing stand, also with extra padding using split and tywrapped garden hose. I have probably changed 16 tires with it so far. Works better than wresting the wheel around and using 2 x 4's...

    This Freakin' bike....

Just passed the first year with my brand new -12. A bit over 9K miles. The VFR I had before this was the best bike I had ever owned. Not any more. Once I got used to the weight and changed the tires, this bike handles almost as well and is way more comfortable and faster too. The only...

    03 typical behavior

Cush drives. Contrary to popular thought (and to what I thought for years) cushioning in the drive line is not just to soften blows like dumping the clutch or banging back and forth within the driveline lash. They do that but they are primarily there to prevent the power pulses from pistons...

    Most HATED Farkle or Accessory

This is interesting. Truly your mileage may vary. I have been using a throttle rocker on my bikes for 8 years with no ill effects and a big increase in comfort on long rides. It doesn't blip the throttle all by itself, you have to push on it.

    Advice for cold weather

I have ridden at 34 degrees with a Goretex membrane jacket, standard thermal liner and a heated vest, windproof overpants, Goretex uninsulated boots, standard summer weight rain (windproof) gloves with the grips set to 3/4 and was toasty warm. I only got cold when I unplugged to get off the...

    Trying to find my Pace

As one of the previous posters said, when riding on the street don't override your sight lines. That is playing russian roulette and sooner or later you will get hurt. I like to ride just fast enough to require my full attention. It's almost a Zen thing. Clears my mind when I have to think...

2013 FJR clutch engaged while starting

I was prepared to live with the sticky clutch on my new 2012 since it was a mostly minor annoyance. I have owned other bike that would stick overnight but this one sticks when you shut if off to get gas or put it in neutral at a light. Needed an oil change this weekend so I went ahead and...

    Thoughts on selling

This is because the bike isn't designed to sit on and watch TV in the garage. Sport bike riding positions are insane sitting in the garage. At high speed on a twisty road, they feel perfect. My FJR is a couch compared to the VFR800 I was riding for 7 years before this one. When I ride any...
