    2006 Yamaha FJR1300 ABS Loaded

Hi All, Sad to say. Owing to a major  cross-country move, I need to sell my 2006 GEN II. Approximately $5,000 in upgrades (see below) all learned from Forum members. Want to move it along to someone who will love it as much as I have. In addition to below, I removed the emissions octopus as per...

    Wind Roar

I am 5'9" and run a rifle +3 +4. There are a couple of sweet spots for me. The first is with the top of the shield up so I can just comfortably see over it. Cuts the noise enormously. As I raise the shield, I can hear the noise just fading away, and then I can actually hear all the interesting...

    Throttle Response Help?!?

I wonder if someone can help me with this. I am running a PC5 (with auto tune)and loving it. I have no more problem with throttle snatch, and the bike is smooth and powerful. The G2 tube is nice to have, but the PC5 fixed the problem. I had never seen the instructions for the Barbarian Mod...

    What next for PCV?

Sorry Cowcop, The thing I hate about the word "stoichiometry" is that I constantly forget how to spell it! Another way of looking at this is that when you take two substances that react together (like gasoline and air to make fire), there is an ideal ratio of the two that leads to the most...

    What next for PCV?

Pickles, The green area in your spreadsheet is approximately stoichiometric for pure gasoline/air mixture. But probably a bit leaner than stoichiometric for commercial fuel. Burning close to stoichiometric leads to very efficient combustion, and hot running. Do you have any concerns about the...

    Recall ECU - rough ride

On May 3 I posted that my recall ECU made my 06 run rough. I asked the dealer to exchange it for another, which I installed a couple of days ago. The bike now runs like it did with the old ECU. So, it looks like a success.

    Which bar riser plate?

I recently put the heli clamp on my 06. Up 1/2 inch, back 1 3/4, and one degree less back-angle on the bars (5 degrees instead of 6). Competition gives 2 degrees less back-angle (4 degrees instead of 6). I went with the Heli because I am 5'9" and don't want the extra inch of rise. The half inch...

    Recall ECU - rough ride

Thanks For that HaulinAshe. I actually took the bike apart myself at the Yamaha shop and ran the old ECU, then ran the new one just to compare. Pins look great and plug snapped in both times. I have the bike apart in my garage right now and will install the old one again, and return the new one...

    Recall ECU - rough ride

Hi All, A couple of weeks ago I got the ignition and ECU recalls done on my "new" 2006 FJR. Since then the bike has been running rough at idle speeds, regardless of RPM, but particularly bad at 2000-2500 RPM. Can watch the tachometer surge with a distinct periodicity when it is sitting in...
