Hello all!
Not a new member but I've been away for a while because I didn't have an FJR and reading about them but not having one is like kissing your sister.
But I am now the proud and happy owner of a new 2014 FJR 1300 ES. I've had a 2008 and a 2012. Only have under 100km (60m) on it...
Weirdly enough, back tire is squared off but has plenty of tread left.
Trans Canada highway.
I lean when I can but not much in the way of twisties around here. 80% of my riding is just commuting on the highway.
Yup - I had a set on my last FJR and loved them.
Yup - I got my nomenclature mixed up.
Luckily I spotted this *before* it blew out on me....
That's the front tire of my 2012 Yamaha FJR1300. Bike and tires were new when I bought them. That tire has only 8K miles on it. There's also a very noticeable "hump" on the right hand side of that pic.
Am I correct in assuming this...
True but I need to save up and bring it with me first. :)
Thanks!
Not going to exclusively ride the passes - I'm more keen on it than the GF so we'll compromise and do what she lets me do. :)
But your experience is good to know. Thanks!
LOL Yeah - I've always dreamed of riding through northern Italy on a bike. The addition of a native tour guide is an added bonus. :)
LOL That's what I'm afraid of - that I'll get there and be willing to pay ANY price to ride the mountain passes. :)
If I'm a very good boy, my Italian girlfriend and I will be going back to her home town of Turino, Italy this fall (late September/early October) for a month. We would really like to rent a motorcycle for a few days. I know they are going to be expensive (and we're (almost) OK with spending...
Thanks - me too.
Yeah - it was just painful to see it all beat up before I'd even had a chance to ride it much. :(
Agreed and that's what scared me so much - the bike *wasn't* staying planted. And I'm no lightweight - I'm 250lbs. So for the wind to push me AND the bike across the highway? Not...
Bought the bike in Sublimity, OR. Many issues with paperwork from the folks at Power Motorsports caused untold problems trailering the bike across the border but eventually made it to Calgary but not before the tarp trashed the hell out of the tail section. :(
The bike is as wonderful as I...
Naw. I'd never hit a woman. But the guy she was with who eventually became her husband? HE gets an ass-whoopin'! :)
I was't familiar with them but when I mentioned them to friends, they said they were good people.
I'll be there by the end of the month. What and where is "Tech Day 4 May"? I'll...
