    "The Why Not" gravel road

The FJR, as many bikes are, is a very capable and versatile bike - it's almost an adventure bike 😁. I've had mine through similar roads, riding along with a Concourse as well. The rider makes the a difference to get through places like those.

    "The Why Not" gravel road

My type of adventure too. If a Goldwing can do it, any bike can do it, even a Harley 😁

    helmet speakers

General overview. First - forget about using any kind of communication device for music, they are not meant to process music audio with any quality. The - While this may sound outdated, my first choice is to connect directly (wired) to the playing device, which in my case I generally use either...

    helmet speakers

I have for years built my own sound into my helmets, which most are actually a very good sound chamber. With the right setup (and patience!) you can enjoy music with a helmet that has great fidelity - sounding like a set of pro-headphones, including good bass. And the best part - it's super...

To lean or counter-lean, that is the question...

I relate to the skiing analogy, and I agree. Similarly, having started on dirt bikes when young gives me a rounded skillset that at times helps, and others not. Little habits that don't work on a street bikes so we'll need to be worked on and put aside when moving from dirt to pavement. So for...

Key won't come out of gas tank lock.

Same thing on an '18, and other bikes. Now, if it's still tough to remove they key even while pushing it in, then you may have other issues. Clean and lubricate the insides - a simple project. For lubricant in all of my locks I use graphite and/or Houdini as lubricants.

    FJR1300 Oil

An observation/comment here... I agree with the comments on requirements and would not be concerned about using any major oil brand as long as it meets the JASO MA standards and the engine's viscosity requirements. Take you pick. This really applies to any engine - be it motorcycle, automotive...

TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

I've been running Pirelli Angel GTII A spec for the past 3 sets and I really like them. As already pointed out, quiet, great dry and good wet traction. Mileage for the rear is about 9~10k, front about 12k. Mileage will vary depending on your riding style. I've have tried (on this and other...

Motorcycle For Sale 2003 Naked FJR

Yep, that what I thought when I found it. It still needed some work and detailing on the mods that had been done to it. Got it done and it runs great. Now someone else can do something else with it.

Motorcycle For Sale 2003 Naked FJR

This '03 FJR is now for sale. It's a naked FJR project that I took on from thenprev owner who could not work on it anymore. Everything works, it's just stripped from plastics. Runs great and could make a good project bike to do something else with it. - New rear tire - Front tire is at least at...

Drive train "crashing" when engaged on a cold engine

Is it possible that the clutch is not opening all the way? It's sound like the there's friction still when it's cold and high idle and that's why it grinds. But as mentioned, this happens. However, if it's a lot of friction and it's stalling when you do so, your clutch may not be opening all...

    Brakes failed

Right - the boiling point expand the fluid and pressurizes the brakes. When it cools then it would release the pressure and allow the wheel(s) to turn freely. However - why front and rear which do not share reservoir? It doesn't seem likely that the cause of the boiling point would be the same...

Both headlights, at the same time?!

All bulbs are made to last only x number hours of 'burning', ... so since (usually) both headlights are on at the same time, they will burn out quite close in time. You will find that hi-beams last longer.

what would you have to do to put cruise control on 2012 from a newer bike

You couldn't, it's so integrated with the electronics that you couldn't. What you can do is add an aftermarket CC.

    Selling? Handling Test Ride Requests

That what I use, basically, just not so 'lawyered up's. In simple English.
