FJRForum Official 2019 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

As another FJR owner and not-so-frequent visitor to this site, I thank everyone involved in the administration and management of the forum generally, and also specifically for the IBR coverage. To those who have previously ridden - thank you for your insights and generosity in sharing your...

Is there any tech inspection at the end of the rally regarding aux fuel? If not, what's to stop a rider picking up an extra gallon or two in a red plastic fual can? (besides honor and honesty, of course).

Third post in and it shows a lack of reading skills and/or comprehension. This could be a very, very long 11 days.

    Petey

The ways I remember Petey, and always will: his riding - skillful and considerate of others; his friendship - welcoming and engaging, we became friends within minutes of meeting; his engagement with everyone - happy to share his knowledge and insights, but never pushy. Me on the left, Petey...

    Petey

So sorry to hear of this. Petey was a friend I met only over 1 weekend in a small group of riders in Harrison, Arkansas, but is was time enough to appreciate him as a man (the fastest great-grandfather on two wheels I think I heard someone say) and a rider. He was fun to talk to and to ride...

Another sad reminder to not ride in formation

John, please pass my (David1300 in another life in Australia) regards on to Brian. It must have been tough for both of you coming across that scene, and thank you from the biking community for doing what you could.

    Why does a bike turn

Shouldn't that be ...LEANED a lot - just sayin'

It's not the riders bike that needs the cooling. It's his extra large Cojones - glad you don't have that problem. Just sayin'

In the time it took you to type this, and to read the replies, you could have read almost all of the 25 pages or so of rules and it would have answered most of your questions 👍👍

    FJRONAMISSION

Thanks for the great tribute, Brodie. Brian is like so many of our FJR friends that we never get to meet, but get to know through our common interest - and in this case, common faith. I wonder what the FJR corner is going to look like in heaven, and who we will meet there.

What the best MC road resource for Australia

Hard to beat the Snowies. Also add Kangaroo Valley (north east of Canberra). As noted above, the Aussie forum will be a good source of suggestions. The great Ocean Road is a bit like Highway 1 in California - it's reputation exceeded the reality for me (in both cases). Both are very scenic...

    20valves Passed Away

Mack was a great friend - first an 'internet' friend through this and other forums, and later we had the pleasure of riding with him and the other 'Hoons' on one of their twice-annual rides in Arkansas (on one of our tours to the USA). He was very generous, a man of integrity and great company...
