It's not news that MCN is switching to color with the March 2008 issue. Still, I just got mine in the mail and it looks GOOD! I was glad they decided to make the switch. Too often, the pictures just didn't do justice to the machine being reviewed.

My 05 had all of the symptoms of a bad tps including stalling in traffic, which really sucked. I had the tps replaced under the recall and that made it run like new.
Thanks for the info un4gvn. I finally bought the trunk for my 05 last month without realizing I couldn't get the attachment plate. I was beginning to wonder if Yamaha was going to bring replacement attachment plates to the market for 03-05. It's good to see Yamaha fixing this issue finally.

That really bites that your bike got dinged so soon after getting it! As for your questions...
a. The dent in the exhaust will have negligible effects on performance.
b. Don't lower your deductible and make a claim later. This will give your insurance company an opportunity to claim fraud...
The Yamaha FZ-1 mirrors are a perfect swap for the stock FJR ones. They have longer stalks so you get a better view.

I've got the Sidi GT Sympatex for foul weather. I found them more comfortable than the On Road version. Unfortunately Sidi doesn't make them anymore so I guess that really isn't too helpful. Maybe you could pick up a pair on ebay?
