I did about the same thing on my 04. Just used a little les tape. :P It works wonders for riding in the heat

A bit of play is not a bad thing. I've never measured the amount of play but that sound about normal.

I was having a problem unlocking mine a few days ago. Garmen tech support emailed me the file I'm talking about. Then had me copy it to my maps folder and then I was unlocked. Don't know any more than that. I'm a hardware guy. Software is for those other folks across the hall.

In your maps folder there should be a file that has your gps serial number in the name xxxxxxx.gma it is the file for the unlock code. Move this with your maps and it should open on any computer. I think.... :unsure:

Two of the deciding factors for me were fuel tank size and the need to run premium gas in the Concours.

I don't know anything about the diag. voltage. Your real battery voltage and your running voltage are in the good/normal range.
