    FM Antenna on FJR?

Thanks. What is 40" long, the antenna portion itself? You coiled that part under the seat, or were you talking about the coax portion? Thanks.

    FM Antenna on FJR?

Well, I tried an in helmet solution about a year ago (I think I bought the Scala Rider). It was OK, but the FM reception was just about as bad as I have now, if not worse. That little antenna was not cutting it. And I had to use the in helmet speakers, so I did not have my noise isolation ear...

    FM Antenna on FJR?

Well, all I am going by is my comparison to any car that I have driven round here with an FM stereo. Always, without exception, I get a far better signal in the car. That makes me think I can do something to get better reception on the bike, but maybe not. I noticed in that review the guy...

    FM Antenna on FJR?

I have a regular ¼ wave automotive style antenna on my FJR. It works, but not all that well. Strong stations come in but fade in & out. Moderate stations are barely received. I spoke to a guy at work that is an electrical engineer and he explained that the reason was those antennas are...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

But what was your "conditions like mine occured" before they worked on it??? Burned, melted? Something else?

    How To Verify Fan Operation?

OK, I performed the diagnostic test and the fans came on just fine. I still do not know if it has gotten hot enough for them to be commanded on. My concern is that the dope with the wrench may have forgotten to reconnect a part of the harness that goes to the temp sensor that tells the fans...

    How To Verify Fan Operation?

I just got my '06 AE back from the local dealership where they performed the ground wire recall (known to us as the Gen II grounding spider issue). They had to replace the entire bike's wire harness. It was clear to me that the tech working on my FJR may never have ever worked on one before...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

Well, I finally have my baby back. I visited her when she was in ICU, all the tupperware off. That was hard to see her that naked.... She is running good, but I have a lot of re-wiring to do. As expected, they had to just cut all of my wires for all of my farkles (Audiovox cruise, Jensen...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

Well, I am not sure that means that they are available in quantity. Remember: I asked the dealer to order both the sub-harness AND the harness at the same time initially (Yammy says they are NOT allowed to do this). The dealer did it anyway. I believe he really just never bothered to read...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

Far different story on mine. I had told the dealer over a month ago that I knew that my harness was damaged and that he should order both the sub-harness and a new harness (like Yammy says NOT to do). They claimed they did it and indeed they did. I saw the new harness sitting on the work...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

It has been almost two months since I was first bitten by the Spider on my '06 AE. About a week later, the recall was issued. I have ridden the bike only about 4 or 5 times since. Just for short trips to & from the store, nothing extensive. I had not ridden in about two weeks and felt, last...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

I know that it had been said that the dealer cannot order the harness without first inspecting, but my dealer told me they have both on the way for me with no inspection. I asked them to do that so I would minimize my down time. They are quite clueless though, so I strongly suggext that only...

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

Why? It seems to me (being an electrical idiot) that conductive grease would be great for any mechanical connection that needs to be removable in nature. Why would you NOT want it?

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

What exactly IS dielectric grease? I thought the whole idea was that is WAS conductive grease! It's not???

    FJRF009.2: "Intermittent Ground Wire Connection"

On the contrary! I love that bike. It is a fantastic design. But just because the people at Yammy decide to be asses, does not mean I should hate the bike or the company. All I ask is that they do the decent thing and admit they made an error and fix it! Is that not a reasonable request...
