Don traveled with many forum members in spirit (thread here) this year.

This week, I put the final touches on the guest book and sent it to Miss Donna, his beloved SO. The note that went with it said this:

Dearest Ms. Donna:

After the passing our friend, Don, last year it was decided that we would continue to carry him on with us in 2016… maybe not how we wanted to but how we were able to.

A photo was printed/laminated and a travel schedule was put together so that he could continue to be with all of his friends throughout the year. Another item in the package was a guest book where people could sign and add photos of the adventures that were had with Don in tow.

Many of us missed him so much this past year but guessing not as much as you did. It was decided to send you the guest book and photo to you in the hopes that maybe it would put a smile on your face at the shenanigans that ensued this past year in Don’s honor and that you would know that he lives on through all of us and you would always be welcome to join in the next shenanigan that you are able.

Sending you much love from around the US,

Your friends from the FJRforum

A Ps to that note, there are some of us outside of the US who also consider us to be his friends; we carried memories of him on our rides, even if not the "official" picture.

Tyler,

That is PERFECT! Thank you for hearding the cats on this, I know Donna will love it

Yup.Don, I know there's no hereafter, but I really wish there was.

I could look forward to talking to you again and laughing about the world.

Here's to you, Don Stanley.

Sláinte, Forum.

There is no way for you to know this.

It is your belief that there is no hereafter.

That's really not any more reliable or based in any better facts than someone else's belief that there is a hereafter.

So ... why have no hope, when hope is handy?

My bride and I were in Central America last week and, naturally, thought of Don.

We got home a few days ago and when I walked into the garage and saw Lucille (Miss Lucy Liu), I almost lost it.

Still miss ya, Don.
