I'm sad to have to share this news but Dave/Highlander passed away yesterday morning from a heart attack. It was very sudden and unexpected. Diane, his wife, called me to let me know and asked me to share with his moto friends. She is surrounded by family at the moment so has lots of support. I had just visited them a couple of weeks ago on my way back from a moto rally in Ely and we spent a few hours together getting caught up. They were both retired, very happy grandparents, and had gotten an RV and were going to leave on a month long trip on Monday and circle around through La Pine to see everyone. He was one of the really good ones and will be missed greatly. :(

On my last visit with them...

I'm sure I have some more pics to share and will do so when I have the bandwidth...

We will truly miss Dave, for he was one of the kindness people anyone could have met. We've spent many quality times and adventures riding together. He was unselfish but always up for a ride and helping everyone. Dave, you may not be physically here but you will always be present in our rides. The memories and bond we've established over the years will always be cherished.

Dave bustn' a move on the Crowley Lake dam while we were out playing in the S10's a couple years ago. Plus he and Diane were always fun to hang out with on or off the bikes. Agree with Tyler and the others he was a really good guy.
Sad indeed, I remember you two meeting up with me in Fortuna and having dinner together. RIP Dave.

So sad to hear of Dave's passing. I learned my best moves by following Dave & Diane through the twisties! It was an honor to tuck in behind them. Sincere condolences and best wishes for peace and gentle healing to all of Dave's loved ones. "Left hander, stay right. Right hander, stay right. Stay right, stay alive." Thank you so much, Highlander!

So sad to read this news but a great reminder for all of us to truly live each day - as Dave and Diane have. Sylvia and I have many happy memories of meeting up with them - including as guests in their beautiful home. RIP Dave - and much love to you and your family Diane. ❤😪
