I think that helps make one of my choices!! Thanks.

I asked because GoogleMaps usually won't route on dirt / gravel roads.

dan

In the WV area, Google Maps also doesn't show a lot of roads that are paved either... damhik! They don't send those Google cars up the one-lane roads in that area it seems... I've been on a few and know they're paved but they still don't show up on GM. ;)

What: 2022 FJR1300 Eastern Owners Meet (EOM)

The venue and staff in Flatwoods was just too good to pass up a round 2. It has been a while since I've had such a positive experience with interactions with a venue staff and management. It takes what can be a very stressful behind the scenes time and turns it into a completely enjoyable experience from start to finish. There were enough enjoyable roads in the general area to support a return as well. We are hoping the state of things allows for the on-site restaurant to be at full service and capacity this September, but only time will tell. I will be working on the website and social media updates this week. There will be an event on facebook, as well as advertised on the FJRIders.com Facebook group.

When will REGISTRATION close for this event?
This FORUM states:
Registration will remain open until Friday, September 9th, 2022"
BUT:
The "Key Dates" on the ATR Page show:
  • September 12th, 2022
    • Registration closes September 14th, 2022
Today is Friday 9th of September. Which is the right information? I am trying to decide due to medical reasons and I have already booked for my lodging at the Days Inn.
Please Respond...
Cheers!

Raven17 - good catch; I am able to leave the registration open for the banquet until Monday - Monday is when I need to provide the headcount guarantee to the hotel for the meal.

That said, most of the time, I can add guests to the meal count until the day before the banquet on a case by case basis. What I mean is, adding one or 2 people last minute is typically not an issue; if someone shows up with a party of 10 to join at the last minute, that will be an issue because we run the risk of not having enough buffer to serve everyone.

If you need to discuss further - please get in touch via PM or cell. Hope you can make it.

Wayne

ExtremeMarine -Thanks a lot for the prompt response.
I will see how I feel during the weekend as well as going for a few short loop…By Monday hopefully everything will be well and I will register. I truly want to attend; because, I have never heard of the possibilities of so many FJR1300 in one spot…

What is the latest or current count for the EOM? I saw 81 up above. Counting my registration? We are at 82 at least?!

Anyone riding down to EOM from Maine or New England area?
Having been to a few of these events and looking over the list of names posted earlier I see a few from the New England area. Unsure if they are riding or possibly trailering as I l know there were some health issues with a few folks so they might not ride the whole way. I'm in PA and see Maine in your profile, if you're taking 2 days and want to tag along with My other half and I then PM me or something and we can try to arrange meeting up.

Just got home from my first EOM 2022 trip (and other points) and want to call out some of the folks I came in contact with during the event.
First, a huge Thank You to Wayne and Annette for the herculean effort in putting on a large successful event!!! I had a great time and couldn't ask for a better group of riders to spend a few days with. Thanks for letting me tag along on the Thursday Spklbuck Special ride.

For the rest I won't name names because I'm sure I won't get them all in or right, but you'll know who you are.
I was glad to meet several riders that I only knew from the forum and find them to be just as special in person. Some from Canada and some from S. Carolina (hope you didn't suffer hurricane damage the last few days) and some from elsewhere.
Glad to meet others who I've never heard of before, including some special ride leaders and a very special substitute ride leader. Made for a very interesting day, one I won't soon forget.

And a very special Thank You for those who sprang into action in the search for a "missing rider". Thankfully, it all ended well !! The missing rider didn't even know he was missing. We were all glad for that outcome.

It was my first EOM, and I hope not my last.

Thank You to everyone who attended and made the show.
