Yes, a Seal Mate (or reasonable facsimile thereof) will fix many, or even most fork leaks - at least temporarily. I find seals are generally good to 100,000 km or more (bushings less so). After that point, any fix will be short term. Don't know about the Gen III+ ES models.

Someone told me that a 35mm film negative works very well. Those little holes on the sides carry the dirt out.
